Yes I have voted, but I am sick and tired of the unrest, I'm aware there has been a lot of discontent for a long time but its now feeling toxic and I want it to be over one way or the other.

MerilwenRose · 23/06/2016 13:34

I feel unsettled, I dislike uncertainty in general, would just like to know one way or the other!

Scholes34 · 23/06/2016 13:36

Preferably a cross, but a tick is fine. It's all judged on whether or not your intention is clear.

Vistaverde · 23/06/2016 13:36

I feel exactly the same. This feels like the biggest decision our generation will make.

spiderlight · 23/06/2016 13:38

I woke up this morning feeling horribly anxious - properly dentist's-appointment anxious - and I suspect I will feel worse tomorrow until I hear the result.

Lottapianos · 23/06/2016 13:39

'I'd be lying rigid in my bed imagining Farage popping champagne corks.'

Grin

Oh please don't put images like that in my head. I physically cannot bear the thought of the smug faces on Johnson, Gove and Farage if its vote to go out. I seriously will not cope. I would rather look at Shiny Dave's smug mug all day long that any of that lot, and I loathe Shiny Dave

I've been off the booze for all of June so far (health kick). That will be coming to an end tomorrow evening I can tell you

LunaLoveg00d · 23/06/2016 13:40

The thought of another toxic independence referendum fills me with more dread than the actual outcome today (although I am worried about that too). I hope remain wins too.

Even if it's a leave, I'd still be a very firm NO in a second Scottish IndyRef. Would rather be in the UK and out of Europe, than in Europe and out of the UK. I predict another 45/55 split and lots of pissed off people tomorrow either way.

BungoWomble · 23/06/2016 13:41

The crappy nature of both campaigns have probably damaged our reputation abroad considerably as well. Just to cheer everyone up.

We have a lot of divides in this country, and they're widening. We desperately need to tackle that. The politicians down in London have one hell of a lot to answer for.

HysteriaLane · 23/06/2016 13:42

It's horrible isn't it. And no one really knows which is right unless they can look into the future, but the aggression over it is ugly. It is bringing out the worst in people.

TremoloGreen · 23/06/2016 13:43

I feel fairly confident (maybe 75%?) that remain will prevail, based on the city analyses and the bookmalers odds. Not v scientific obviously!

I keep getting the heebies jeebies every hour or so of what if...

Had a quick text exchange with DMIL about the vote today, she is parroting the Fail/Telegraph to a tee. I don't know how we will feel about it all as a family if the UK leaves, knowing they voted for it Confused Feel quite upset about that really.

Newbrummie · 23/06/2016 13:43

Really it's affecting people that much ?

HoggleHoggle · 23/06/2016 13:44

Yup, also feeling very unsettled today. This sounds silly but I don't think the awful weather is helping the mood. It all feels a bit doomy.

Mummyme1987 · 23/06/2016 13:44

I feel unsettled. I do the postal vote as my local polling station isn't wheelchair friendly. But I still don't know if I voted the right way. I haven't heard any real facts from either side. All hate/ fear from both sides. So little real info. I'm not sure who I want to win.

TremoloGreen · 23/06/2016 13:45

Everyone on my FB is voting Remain and I have quite a wide political (but maybe not social) spectrum. I would have to stay off there today if I had friends voting Leave.

BungoWomble · 23/06/2016 13:45

Dunno about anyone else, but I keep feeling we're living on the edge of a knife anyway. Something like this could kick things off... I worry.

This thread is worrying me too www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2668733-I-know-I-know-Theres-always-one-but-did-I-have-to-register-seperately-to-vote-today?pg=2 . Next thing is querying the validity of the result...

LikeASoulWithoutAMind · 23/06/2016 13:46

I feel edgy and unsettled too and it's really not like me.

PerpendicularVincent · 23/06/2016 13:47

I feel pretty worried that leave will win. I'm stressing about loss of jobs and what kind of trade agreements we'd be able to negotiate. I've voted but feel powerless so am comfort eating Sad

MunchCrunch01 · 23/06/2016 13:47

The bitterness of the scottish referendum is still palpable, even now. This looks to be the same - I'm hoping that the next few years bring more consensus and not more fragmentation - our house purchase and sale will fall through if there's brexit so i'm finding it hard to concentrate...

CesareBorgiasUnicornMask · 23/06/2016 13:48

I have hope. FIL came over this morning to babysit via his polling station - he has been like Nigel Farage's echo since this all began, and he even told me on the phone before he set off that he was going to persuade me to change my vote to Leave. Then he arrived and said he'd bottled it at the voting booth and voted Remain, because actually after all he thinks better the devil you know Grin.

But yes I am scared if we vote Out, and if that then turns out to be as much of a disaster as I think it might be, I'll find it hard to feel the same way about the people who made it happen including friends and family.

Mummyme1987 · 23/06/2016 13:48

The pencil thing on fb is unsettling me too. Like it's rigged

blitheringbuzzards1234 · 23/06/2016 13:48

Yes, I feel this way too. Don't these media types realise how fed up many of us are about the almost relentless ramming down our throats of this debate? I'd made up my mind weeks ago and have simply switched channels whenever yet another programme has come on about it.

Let's try to remain cheerful, we are a free country where debate is allowed no matter what our political views are - and by tomorrow it will all be over.

Gowgirl · 23/06/2016 13:49

The London riots keep popping into my head......
I think that's the last time people were this rattled

OP posts:
Mummyme1987 · 23/06/2016 13:49

Just not sure which side is the slimiest to fix it

RosesareSublime · 23/06/2016 13:50

Cameron put us in this position because we wanted him too. Or most of the country did.

This is what democracy is.

I think people are scared and will vote to remain, which to me is a terrifying thought. I feel deflated. Sad.

SheHasAWildHeart · 23/06/2016 13:50

I think I feel extra nervous because the exit polls were so wrong about the General Election so there's no way I feel relaxed believing them. I voted via post a few weeks ago and voted Remain - far too many "if we vote x y z could happen" which scares me.

nosireebob · 23/06/2016 13:50

EU citizen here and partner adamant we should uproot and move to another EU country if we Brexit. I do agree as I really think the UK's economy is going to suffer and the divisions this has caused will take a long time to heal - but my heart is here, been here for 20 years, kid is happy in his school, lovely friends and neighbours, great team at work in a job I love, so we'd give up a lot.

Unsettled is an understatement, my stomach has been in knots for days.
