Husband, ex military man appropriately named dick, did a lot of telly in the early noughties about engineering projects, and living green etc. Involving all his family.

Seems he's had a mid life crisis and is now with a young cockney vintage person called Angel, has started a second family and is now living with her and youngsters in France in a ruin d chateau allegedly bought for. 280 k with 12 acres and a renovation budget of 20k.

All lovey Dovey. Constantly nose bumping etc. Decorating the honeymoon suite. And Lo! Her parents have arrived to live with them ( and no doubt contribute to the budget.)

All feels very yuck.

She's born in 1970 he's born in 1959. That's 11 years, right.

AllThatIsGoldDoesNotGlitter · 26/03/2017 11:28

The source I found said she's 46 and he's 57. I don't know these people so I accept my Googling may have misled me. But if they're consenting adults I don't think an 18-year-gap is a huge deal either.

Guiltypleasures001 · 26/03/2017 14:04

I think they make a lovely couple and come across as a really good blended family

As for the jack hammer comment, I very much doubt he would have said it if he thought she wouldn't have taken it the way it was meant. She doesn't come across as not being able to fight her corner, I found the comment to be meant with warmth and effection, I see a great deal of love between them.

Ewww! That tache! Envy

ForalltheSaints · 26/03/2017 16:18

A man leaving his wife for a younger woman? Well Wayne Rooney and Emmanuel Macron won't. but plenty of other men do.

BeyondThePage · 26/03/2017 16:26

Why the sympathy etc. They split up long before he even met his second wife.

AppleAndBlackberry · 26/03/2017 16:33

I was disappointed to hear they split up too. I think it's because "It's not easy being green" was almost selling a lifestyle and an ethos, which doesn't really fit with trading your wife in for a younger model and moving to France. Glad to hear Brigit is doing ok though and obviously we don't know the circumstances of the split.

HadrianHadALongWall23 · 26/03/2017 17:09

I thought it a bit yuk, and was shocked when I saw him in a new prog, with a new wife...but these things happen. No idea if its galling for the first wife (and of course none of my business) thats the trouble with reality type programmes, we are all a little invested and interested..present wife is an Angela, not really Angel, both are sweet, heard her referred to as such in the programme.
I wish we women dont always seem to be traded in for younger models on TV, and in life at the moment around me... very unfair...

expatinscotland · 24/09/2017 19:27

He's just another spoonie - 60'ish man with little kids and newest young wife. Just like all the rest. What a saddo.

Littlebelina · 24/09/2017 19:48

ZOMBIE!

Why?

Megabeth · 24/09/2017 20:04

Because the programme about the Chateau has just been repeated.

pameladoove · 24/09/2017 20:06

I love this thread. It just keeps coming back.

user327854831 · 24/09/2017 20:09

Nothing to see here, move on.

DollyPartonsBeard · 24/09/2017 20:13

Dickleburgh!

Megabeth · 24/09/2017 20:19

I've just googled Brigit, she looks lovely and has a gorgeous new husband.

fantasmasgoria1 · 24/09/2017 20:22

Google says she is 47 and he is 58 so only 11 years age difference!

LeninaCrowne · 24/09/2017 20:25

While I wish them a happy life I get the feeling he's going to slog his guts out for her and her family and knacker himself in the process.

Popchyk · 24/09/2017 20:34

Angel Adoree.

Or Angela Newman.

There was a thread on here a while back where someone said that Dick getting together with Angel was 'very much loin instigated' which made me titter.

RabidHarpy · 24/09/2017 20:41

Because one thread, in this instance, may be enough?

Lovely children, lovely home and grounds. I quite pleased to read the previous messages as I watched tonight for the first time. I am lazy so it helps Smile.

I'm nearing 50 and am astonished either of them have the energy for the place. Good luck to them.

I think I might have a look for a bungalow Smile. Actually, I yearn for a bungalow.

TheMightyMing · 24/09/2017 20:41

I'm watching this as we speak ! Love it

IroningMountain · 24/09/2017 20:56

I want a French chateau.Envy

They all seem lovely. Maybe it was mutual.

TickettyB · 01/10/2017 20:26

That moustache is aggressive.

ILoveMillhousesDad · 01/10/2017 20:35

Ahh I like them. And their kids are absolutely adorable.

Imagine growing up there!!

Marriages break down and it doesn't seem like he left his wife for her.

Everyone has moved on.

I love her Vintage Tea Party book. I may possibly get very over excited about afternoon tea books Blush
