Aibu to be annoyed neighbours snake was found in our garden?

This afternoon we were greeted with this visitor (pictured) in the garden. Turns out when we asked next door it was there and has been missing for 2 and half weeks and had last see it going under there decking. I'm frightened of snakes, we also have a baby ,a toddler and a 7 year old.

Am i unreasonable that they should of informed us it was lost and that they would let a snake (regardless if it's a pet snake) roam freely outside and end up in someone else's garden. The thought of my toddler picking it up not realising it was real or it going near the baby or 7 year makes my stomach turn.

Stardust I think it would have been all the more shocking given the UK isn't really a place you'd expect to see a snake in your garden.

Ive had an crocodile outside my front door on one holiday. A bear rooting through the rubbish in another. A Russell Pet Viper down in my swimming pool pump room. A wee bit of an accident involving a camel. A rabid fox outside my house during one desert posting. Camel spiders coming over the wall like an army battalion during the same desert posting. And enough Scorpion encounters to last me a life time - not that they bother me one bit.

But snakes? They give me the creeps and Im very afraid of them.

*Unfortunately there's always a couple that seem to be rude or sarcastic8

Yes and I guess they can't help it.

Stardust160 · 29/05/2016 20:39

Ego thanks unfortunately some people feel the need to put others down.

MrsSpecter are you as rude and vile in RL as you on MN? You continue to comment after intinally posting to be rude and sarcastic.

Egosumquisum that isn't what has happened here though? And who asked you anyway? I wasn't replying to you. Go and troll someone else.

Stardust160 · 29/05/2016 20:42

MrsSpecter I'm dyslexic as I stated above as well as meantioning the predicted text. Do you regularly enjoy putting others down? You're slightly going off topic here but to go round policing everyone's grammar on threads?

I am petrified of snakes. Doesn't matter what fucking type, venomous or not, I find them terrifying.

Honestly, I would have fainted if I had seen that in my garden. Probably would have pissed myself in fright.

Yes that sounds dramatic, but people are fearful of different things. One of my fears is snakes.

Of course YANBU op. Two and a half weeks and they never told you it was missing for that long.

WTF anyone would keep snakes as pets is beyond me but that's an entirely different thread.

EnthusiasmDisturbed · 29/05/2016 20:44

Whatever you posted on here someone will come along to belittle you

You could have posted that the neighbours thought it was funny to place the snake in your house to see what your reaction would be you would be told that you are over reacting, don't have a sense of humour or the good old favourite maybe your neighbour has a mh issues so you should of thought of that before reacting unkindly to the joke

MamaYoyo · 29/05/2016 20:44

My husband is African. If he found a snake in the garden, he'd kill it first and only try to find out what it was afterwards. So if you lived next to me and had a pet snake you'd definitely be advised to warn me if it was missing.

Stardust160 · 29/05/2016 20:46

Thanks Green thanks Ego 🙂 obviously a boring night for MrsSpecter if she feels the need to go trolling, correcting people's grammar on a Sunday night.

Not trolling. Not correcting people's grammar. Just this once.

janethegirl2 · 29/05/2016 20:47

It's only a corn snake, they're cute and only bite (not seriously) if they are threatened.

I love snakes and generally most pet snakes are pretty harmless.

I've done a lot of diving and sea snakes give me the creeps

Years ago my kids were playing football on the beach and my daft son who was very young at the time saw something lying not far from the goal so he went across and kicked it to the side - it was a sea snake and it was alive. A bit dopey but very much alive. I still think of it and imagine it crawling up the back of my beach chair when I wasn't looking and 'getting me'.

Greenyogagirl · 29/05/2016 20:48

Stardust from what I've seen she lurks under bridges hoping to upset everyone. Clearly she has no knowledge of dyslexia and that's not even relevant to the thread anyway so just ignore and hope she goes away Smile

MrsSpecter · 29/05/2016 20:48

Thanks ego i knew i had something wrong.

Merd · 29/05/2016 20:49

Ego Grin

MrsSpecter I don't know who you're trying to impress but you are coming across as a bit of a rude arse now.

And that's a capital I in "I" right?

MrsSpecter · 29/05/2016 20:49

Oh greenyoga do give over. If you are going to assert something as fact at least have the decency to make it true.
