does it bother you that men use this site also?

Sometimes very female skewed things are discussed and I can't help feeling slightly uncomfortable when I read: "Male perspective here..."

I'm sure I am BU but does anyone else feel the same? I am struggling to put into words why it bothers me but it does.

OP posts:
GreatFuckability · 28/05/2016 19:29

nope, not in the least bit bothered. I actually wish there were more men, it would give a more balanced view of things sometimes.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 28/05/2016 19:29

Doesn't bother me in the slightest.

thecatfromjapan · 28/05/2016 19:31

What TerryPratchett said.

I would add that I, personally, think the feel of mumsnet is changing. It's hard to put my finger on but I think there is increasingly an awareness of male/men's perspectives.

That said, it's vastly different from the rest of the internet.

IamtheZombie · 28/05/2016 19:31

So long as they are kindly disposed towards Zombies, Zombie doesn't give a flying fuck who posts here. Quite a number of the male posters are absolutely lovely.

Sparklingbrook · 28/05/2016 19:33

I don't think the Jeff debacle helped WRT all this though.

LifeHuh · 28/05/2016 19:33

Nope, not bothered. You can always tell who you are talking to anyway and if you disagree with someone you can tell them,or ignore them, according to preference whatever their sex/ parental status!

PerspicaciaTick · 28/05/2016 19:34

Some of my favourite people are men. Some of my favourite MNers are men.
Male and female goady fuckers are unwelcome.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 28/05/2016 19:35

What an awful thread OP. It's not a site for women, it's for parents. Just because mostly women post on it doesn't mean that men shouldn't.

We have childless women posting on it too. Do they bother you as well? Hmm

Imagine the furore... "Does it bother you that childless-women post on this site?". Urgh.

EDisFunny · 28/05/2016 19:36

It is just the MRA types that I could do without.

PeaceOfWildThings · 28/05/2016 19:37

Doesn't bother me at all, but sometimes it does seem a bit odd when people go on about 'the differences between men and women' on here. People are people.

LupoLoopy · 28/05/2016 19:39

YABU. Simples. Glad to help.

DramaAlpaca · 28/05/2016 19:41

Doesn't bother me one bit. Some of my favourite posters are male.

ScarletOverkill · 28/05/2016 19:41

Yes it does!
Those menfolk are getting all over the place!
Is nowhere sacred?
Hmm

IfTheCapFitsWearIt · 28/05/2016 19:42

No doesn't bother me at all.

As long as they aren't twats, which I can say the same about women posters.

This is a public forum, there will be men reading MN who haven't registered. So even if MN banned men. They'd still be reading what's being posted.

thecatfromjapan · 28/05/2016 19:42

You know, threads like this always make me want to say, 'Avtually, yes, I wish we had a quota on men.' I find the endless reassurance that we love having men here totally tedious.
It's like some long blow-job for male egos.

LupoLoopy · 28/05/2016 19:42

Ah shucks. Thanks x

you meant me, yeah? obs...

Agree with mrsterrypratchett

Floggingmolly · 28/05/2016 19:46

The does it bother you that childless women post on this site thing has been done, Lying... More than once, iirc.
Really odd to give a shit; especially when you only know what anyone chooses to reveal about themselves anyway, and most lots of people are economical with the truth, to say the least.

shazzarooney999 · 28/05/2016 19:46

I don not know why anyone would be offended by dads using this site, and i wonder how uncomfy its making them feel reading this post?

Ellybellyboo · 28/05/2016 19:46

No, not bothered

GooodMythicalMorning · 28/05/2016 19:46

No

PurpleDaisies · 28/05/2016 19:47
