AIBU to contest this parking ticket? (pics included)

This looks like a legitimate space right? Road markings to indicate it's a space, no signs anywhere saying no parking. Before I go to the bother of appealing, I wanted to get some second opinions.

Unless she is riding a motorbike there is no way she can get a car the other side of that white line...

firesidechat · 18/05/2016 11:59

Those little narrow spaces right against the fence op? I can't see how any car would fit there, but look forward to the evidence.

I will wait for more pics as like others I can't see a parking space

BeYourselfUnlessUCanBeAUnicorn · 18/05/2016 12:11

Fine for what? There are no double yellow lines, no signs, so what is the actual issue with parking there?

firesidechat · 18/05/2016 12:13

It's a car park. You have to park between the lines of a designated parking bay.

Dowser · 18/05/2016 12:17

It's always worth a try.

00100001 · 18/05/2016 12:17

is this the "space" you mean?

Looks like a bit of road, or driveway, not a space

firesidechat · 18/05/2016 12:18

Those are the only lines I can see 001, so I think that's what she meant.

firesidechat · 18/05/2016 12:19

I'm a bit flummoxed by this thread if I'm honest.

MiffleTheIntrovert · 18/05/2016 12:21

This is going to be like the safe thread isn't it

firesidechat · 18/05/2016 12:23

That's my worry too Miffle. Sad

witsender · 18/05/2016 12:23

I think the OP means parking along the line, not face on to the barrier. Still doesn't look like a space to me.

Don't worry Miffle. All we have to do is go to every railway station carpark in the country if she doesn't come back.

We need to be able to see the whole "space". No idea from what you have posted so far.

firesidechat · 18/05/2016 12:26

I think she meant that too witsender, but still not a space, unless the op has a special contraption that folds time and space.

firesidechat · 18/05/2016 12:29

Perhaps the op thinks that it needs to fit within the front and back of the space and is ignoring the side of the space. It's the only logical explanation, but she is clearly wrong if so.

PaulAnkaTheDog · 18/05/2016 12:29

Is there not a line at the top as well? I'm so confused!

Unles your car fits inside the white lines it's not a space

So it has to be big enough for that

TheHobbitMum · 18/05/2016 12:36

I've looked and looked at the photos and unless the OP has magical tardis I can't see how that is a space? Hmm

alwaysfancywine · 18/05/2016 15:29

I'M BACK!! Blimey, I've caused a lot of confusion by those last pictures! I've been the train station to take some photos in situ. Two other people had done exactly the same as me today so these are pics of other cars. You see what I mean now? The (albeit short) white lines indicate a length space for a car. There is no obstruction being caused and no signs saying 'parking'. So, my question is AIBU to have assumed this was a space and appeal? If he majority think I don't have a case I will pay! Thanks all
