Whoops
I did not know this either. Shock

Ihatechoosingnames · 01/05/2016 11:39

Hahaha! I'm sure they knew you meant it in an innocent way

pigsinmud · 01/05/2016 11:39

What does it mean? My parental settings won't let me view the dictionary page!

TheCatsMeow · 01/05/2016 11:39

Hahaha. Grin

FuzzyOwl · 01/05/2016 11:40

Maybe your clients didn't know either, or maybe that were just a little taken aback at how open you were about your plans! Grin

TheCatsMeow · 01/05/2016 11:40

Schilke sex while watching Netflix

whois · 01/05/2016 11:40

Ah ha ha ha ha PMSL :-)

I'm sure they knew you were using it in an innocent way!

ProtegoMaxima · 01/05/2016 11:41

I am so glad I'm not the only one who has made this mistake! A while ago I told a group of colleagues after a hectic week at work that I was planning on a Netflix and Chill weekend with a couple of friends as I needed to de-stress Blush It wasn't until I went back to work on the Monday and was greeted with "hope you enjoyed your weekend wink" from one of my younger male work mates that I realised what the phrase actually implied!

pigsinmud · 01/05/2016 11:41

Ah ok. I hope it's not widely known as I've used that phrase several times!

HPsauciness · 01/05/2016 11:42

I didn't know this either.

I usually say 'Amazon' instead, so hope I've got away with it.

pigsinmud · 01/05/2016 11:42

Oh god ProtegoMaxima I feel your pain.

Caffeinator · 01/05/2016 11:42

I told DP what it meant, soon afterwards he said it in front of DSS who was utterly appalled because he's a teenager and their generation invented sex y'see

BoffinMum · 01/05/2016 11:42

It means rumpy pumpy, a roll in the hay, a bit of how's your father, that kind of thing. Presumably with the TV on. Having summoned the victim via text first, which is, as I understand it, the modern way.

Sighing · 01/05/2016 11:44

I had no idea!
Is it "nudge, nudge, wink, wink" territory .... or more blunt?

Ihatechoosingnames · 01/05/2016 11:44

Yeah you invite someone over (via text!) to watch Netflix and chill which is basically code for 'come over and have sex' Grin

TheCatsMeow · 01/05/2016 11:45

Schilke

Depends on the age group, it's widely known amongst mine (late teens and early 20s) but I don't think it is in older circles.

It's left me puzzled with what to say when I want to invite my friends over for a relaxed evening watching Netflix. I tend to say "Netflix-and-don't-fucking-touch-me" Grin

Leggytadpole · 01/05/2016 11:47

Schlike it's a code word for a shag.

Asking someone if they'd like to watch Netflix and chill is like the modern equivalent of asking someone in for a 'coffee' Wink

FayKorgasm · 01/05/2016 11:47

Its pretty widely known to mean having sex.
Hey at least your clients think of you as open and honest.

LunaMay · 01/05/2016 11:49

Hahaha this made my night :)

Still a few little old lady clients arent as bad as some of these www.buzzfeed.com/jamiejones/netflix-and-chill-fails?utm_term=.fqbWgeDAPX#.tfOZRKr8Qn

MidnightVelvetthe5th · 01/05/2016 11:50

Hang on, is this not a booty call? Or am I showing my age?!

I have Amazon Prime, I can't invite people over under false pretences of Netflix. Nor would I text them if I want a fuck, surely a phone call at the very least is polite..... Grin

sleeponeday · 01/05/2016 11:50

There's even been a Guardian article on it: How "Netflix and chill" became code for casual sex."

RattieOfCatan · 01/05/2016 11:50

Hahaha I used it a few times before I was told too so I fully sympathise, though I hadn't been telling clients that thankfully Grin

BrianCoxReborn · 01/05/2016 11:52

Anybody trying to convince themselves it isn't widely know...

It isn't.

Unless your under 30 and then it is the modern day equivalent of "wanna come back to mine for a coffee?"

BrianCoxReborn · 01/05/2016 11:53

*you're

Thatrabbittrickedme · 01/05/2016 11:54

I've just learned something! It's clearly recently changed meaning though hasn't it? (clutching at straws, another one who has used this phrase with important business clients) Blush
