to think how your armpits smell isn't as important as whether your children will survive operations in the future?

Just seen a sidebar advert for antibacterial deodorant. Seriously, is antibiotic resistance happening in a parallel universe to the cosmetics industry?

I am sure it will all be wonderful fun to use their new product instead of just washing etc. but killing 90% of the bacteria is just focussing the minds of the 10% on how to evade destruction. When our children and grandchildren are in fear of their lives from superbugs every time they require routine surgery, we are not going to look back kindly on this kind of 'innovation'.

YANBU OP but your post was poorly written. It may be technically accurate but it's certainly confusing for lay people and as this is not an academic forum it could have done with rewording or even a short explanatory sentence at the end.

GraysAnalogy · 25/04/2016 14:07

That's actually a bit of crap to be honest daddy. A lot of what OP has said is confusing because it's inaccurate, psuedo-science or based of bits of study without enough to prove either side

What part of confusing antiseptic/antibacterial with antibiotic is "technically accurate", I wonder?

OP has been going on about how armpits would not smell & would not need deodorants if we only let our armpit hair go feral for years. She wasn't claiming to be working in the drug development industry then, iirc, and her posts were were no more scientifically accurate than they are now.

Basically, she likes to grow her armpit hair and doesn't think it smells. That is all.

Fair enough, to each their own and all that, but it is just not true that long armpit hair makes armpits pleasant to be downwind from.
