use the non-English word que when they really want to say CUE

It's not a typo. I see it very regularly on forums and it does my fucking head in.

Now, que lots of people telling me IABU Wink

Que=Manuel from Faulty Towers. YANBU Grin

AliceInUnderpants · 15/04/2016 19:10

Sparkling that's exactly the only way the word que should be used Grin

Rubydoobiesmum · 15/04/2016 19:10

I actually read that in Spanish and was very confused for a second

I have seen (on MN) lots of posters using 'que' when they mean 'queue'.

AliceInUnderpants · 15/04/2016 19:14

Euphemia I can see the full stops, but not the capital letters?

OP posts:
Crabbitface · 15/04/2016 19:21

I want to poke people in the eye when they slag off other people's spelling.

Poikjhvcx · 15/04/2016 19:22

Ohh were you the pedant person who YABU'ed a poster because the had got cue/que confused earlier this evening.

If so YABU and petty and this thread is a TAAT.

AliceInUnderpants · 15/04/2016 19:24

Poikjhvcx No, I wasn't. And this thread is about a glaringly obvious spelling error, not a thread.

HTH, hun.

OP posts:
Poikjhvcx · 15/04/2016 19:27

So, it was just a coincidence then. Hmm

Footle · 15/04/2016 19:27

My bugbear is that pretend crossing out thing, sorry.

Crabbitface · 15/04/2016 19:28

So a poster makes a spelling mistake and you decide to start a whole thread about it. You're a wee treat aren't you. Were you the class bully too or do you just do it when you can be anonymous.

Sparklingbrook · 15/04/2016 19:29

Loads of people get wound up by the strike out thing, If it's there as a function people will use it but i don't see the angst.

AliceInUnderpants · 15/04/2016 19:29

Poikjhvcx, apparently so, since I still don't know which thread you're referring to. Feel free to check my posting history, if it stops you from sleeping tonight.

OP posts:
RudeElf · 15/04/2016 19:29

Que =Manuel from Faulty Towers.

Yep. Every time i see it. Grin

Poikjhvcx · 15/04/2016 19:35

It's on the AIBU slashing car tires thread and the petty pedant who corrected the OP did so an hour or so ago. Still, if you really didn't see it then fair enough. Confused

PresidentOliviaMumsnet · 15/04/2016 19:43

Just a bit of peace and love all please

honeylulu · 15/04/2016 19:46

Yes. Also "here here" instead of "hear hear". Even the teachers at my son's school do it.

AliceInUnderpants · 15/04/2016 19:47

Hahahah Olivia did someone honestly report this thread? Can I ask what for?

OP posts:
ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 15/04/2016 19:55

It's 'seen' instead of 'seeing' or 'been' instead of 'being' that puts my teeth on edge.

Poikjhvcx · 15/04/2016 19:58

Shock I didn't report it! Shock

PresidentOliviaMumsnet · 15/04/2016 20:09

I just don't think anyone should be poking anyone with forks on a Friday night, virtually or otherwise

Peace and love

AliceInUnderpants · 15/04/2016 20:11

I didn't say I would, or do. I said I want to Wink

OP posts:
vintagefiend · 15/04/2016 20:29

Oh come on MNHQ "poking anyone with forks" is clearly intended to be humorous

Poikjhvcx · 15/04/2016 20:35

🙄😂
