Whenever I hang a new loo roll I do it so the loose sheet hangs away from the wall as this is obviously correct. Then DH turns it round so the loose sheet hangs by the wall. So I change it back, and DH turns it round again. Every single time.

He has to be doing it deliberately. I should LTB, shouldn't I?

YANBU Shock definitely LTB, why does he want to live like an animal? Tsk.

honeylulu · 11/04/2016 09:48

You are right. The edge of the paper hanging against the wall gets damp and horrid if your bathroom gets full of condensation.

SerenityReynolds · 11/04/2016 09:48

You are most definitely in the wrong, I'm afraid. My DH and I are in the midst of a similar Battle of the Bog Roll and my way is obviously the correct way!

OTheHugeManatee · 11/04/2016 09:49

Exactly euphemia what about the greater risk of poo spore transfer when the sheet is hanging by the wall?

chunkymum1 · 11/04/2016 09:50

Hang on.... your DH knows how to put a new loo roll on the holder...and actually does ;)

Oh and YANBU

Mishaps · 11/04/2016 09:51

There was once some research that showed that women tend to put the roll in the OP's (obviously correct!) way.

MidniteScribbler · 11/04/2016 09:53

There is actually a Wikpedia page for this argument!

acasualobserver · 11/04/2016 09:57

A lot of very irresponsible posting on this thread. Many posters enabling some horrifically wrong attitudes.

2016Hopeful · 11/04/2016 09:58

You are right of course!!!

AlisonWunderland · 11/04/2016 09:58

The "against the wall" camp have been brainwashed by Andrex puppy adverts.

Front dangling is the only way

MyCatIsTryingToKillMe · 11/04/2016 09:58

The correct way is as you do it, you DH is a fool and knows nothing about the loo roll.

My mum always hangs it the wrong way and so I knidly change it for her whenever I visit. Wink

fuzzyllama · 11/04/2016 09:58

You are doing it right, your husband is wrong, very wrong. As are the posters agreeing with his madness. Nothing boils my potatoes like toilet roll hanging the wrong way round. It's a constant battle in this house too.

MyCatIsTryingToKillMe · 11/04/2016 10:00

I think one of my hands types faster than the other.

MusterMark · 11/04/2016 10:02

You need a lockable holder such as this

MamTDM · 11/04/2016 10:04

Your husband is right. Your way just feels wrong. And my mum said it was common. So there. .

SouthWesterlyWinds · 11/04/2016 10:04

The patent for the toilet roll holder (yep - there is one!!) clearly shows the correct method of hanging toilet roll.

dakin1 · 11/04/2016 10:08

I used to work as a hotel chambermaid - you are right!

SurlyValentine · 11/04/2016 10:09

YANBU. Front dangling is the only way. Kill him immediately, if not sooner Smile

NeedACleverNN · 11/04/2016 10:11

Away from the wall is right

Facing the wall is wrong

End of

!

AlisonWunderland · 11/04/2016 10:12

wanders off to check all loo rolls are still correctly front hanging and fold ends into points

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 11/04/2016 10:12

You are right.

He is being very very unreasonable.

We occasionally have this, except Dh can't be bothered to keep it up.

AlisonWunderland · 11/04/2016 10:13

For what earthly reason would sane people back hang a loo roll?
Wrong I tells ye, wrong!

TheHuntingOfTheSarky · 11/04/2016 10:15

You are absolutely not BU. My DH does it wrong (when he does it at all) and has also been secretly training our 2 DDs in his evil art. To make matters worse he tells them I'm getting it wrong because I'm left-handed (only one in the family) and therefore should be pitied and gently put right Shock

ouryve · 11/04/2016 10:16

Yanbu. You're dh has it all back to front and inside out.

TotallyLouise · 11/04/2016 10:19

I wish I knew how you feltEnvy, our toilet roll holder fell off the wall the day we moved in and DH has yet to put it back up (1 year on). Which reminds me, I must get some screws this week and do it myself...
