My DD who is 3 has been having stomach/bowel problems for the last year. Diagnose as constipation. She can not pass a stool for weeks despite fantastic diet and laxatives and weeks is in severe pain most days. She is very petite and skinny but her stomach has swollen to look 9 months pregnant. Getting no where with doctors/hospital etc.
Aibu to think this is not how a heathy child's stomach should look.

So glad to hear that you are getting more support.
I took one of my children to a private dietician who diagnosed dairy and soya allergy as a baby. It was worth the money. Natural liquioce is very good and they just need a little I have known mums who have tried this and were amazed. I'm not saying for now but in the future. Panda or Daryll Lea and children like it.
I'm hoping they find the cause.

GreenMarkerPen · 01/04/2016 18:48

I'm also here for a handhold.
glad you are at hospital and that your lovely dd finally gets treatment.
good luck all of you!

RaspberryOverload · 01/04/2016 18:49

Thanks for you all and especially for miniLittlemaemae.

Hope she's getting the treatment she needs, now, and agree that she needs investigation into why she's like this.

GreenMarkerPen · 01/04/2016 18:49

as for the gp - I have expletives in mind that are even too much for mumsnet!

cakeycakeface · 01/04/2016 18:54

Would the hospital write to the GP about this? Surely someone needs to very firmly set him straight. In addition to mae's complaints.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 01/04/2016 18:55

I am sorry to hear your DD is still struggling but I am glad to hear that you are now in the hospital. Hopefully, she will start to get the care she needs now. Well done for fighting her corner and getting the right people to take notice.

Whitewhine89 · 01/04/2016 18:59

De lurking to wish you all well. Glad your DD is finally getting some investigations.

perfumedlife · 01/04/2016 19:00

I'm so relieved you are in hospital now op. Nothing about these pictures is normal. Hope it all goes smoothly for your little one, been thinking of nothing else for days, it's so upsetting to hear of kids that young suffering.

HPandBaconSandwiches · 01/04/2016 19:13

I'm so sorry your DD is feeling poorly now. Her new photo looks significantly worse, perhaps you could show the doctors what's happened in the last couple of days. Keeping all fingers crossed that she turns a corner soon.

NeedACleverNN · 01/04/2016 19:14

I'm glad things are finally getting sorted

AnotherStitchInTime · 01/04/2016 19:14

So glad you are being seen in hospital. Your poor dd, hopefully she will have some relief soon.

girlandboy · 01/04/2016 19:21

Glad you are in hospital. Hopefully they take you seriously now!

WellErrr · 01/04/2016 19:23

So glad you're in hospital now. Hope she gets some relief soon Flowers

littlemaemae · 01/04/2016 19:26

Well we are home,
We were in and out really.
We actually saw her consultant (even though I had been told he was on holidayHmm)
He was surprised at her condition as she was nothing like that when he has her.
I think the nurse said there must be a blockage.
Enema wasn't too bad, she fell asleep on the way home and is in bed now.
She hasn't passed anything yet.
We have open access over the weekend and if she doesn't pass it by the afternoon we are to go back.
Continence nurse coming Monday still - then I will address all the testing etc.
We have a hell of a lot more in place now, I can't believe we were left to our own devices for so long.
Really hope DD will be through this soon.

I can understand why they sent you home if she'd had the enema and seemed OK. Did they manage to shift a lot then?

Glad you have a plan in place - her treatment thus far has been shocking.

perfumedlife · 01/04/2016 19:29

OP I truly urge you to take the PIL's offer and go private. You've believe all the NHS empty promises all through this thread and they've got you nowhere, in years essentially.

anontoday23 · 01/04/2016 19:30

Thoughts are with you all. Is so awful. The pain must be terrible. Sending best wishes

WellErrr · 01/04/2016 19:31

I disagree - I don't think going private at this point would be of any benefit.
