My DD who is 3 has been having stomach/bowel problems for the last year. Diagnose as constipation. She can not pass a stool for weeks despite fantastic diet and laxatives and weeks is in severe pain most days. She is very petite and skinny but her stomach has swollen to look 9 months pregnant. Getting no where with doctors/hospital etc.
Aibu to think this is not how a heathy child's stomach should look.

I've been reading through this thread and I'm shocked by how long your daughter has been left like this. Shock

My 19 month old has had chronic constipation since birth but it has never been anywhere near as serious as how you describe, we got referred to a gastroenterologist by general pead in december it was mainly for his reflux. When we explained him only opening his bowels once a week or so and his poos being hard long before weaning, they have said he needs a colonoscopy and a suction rectal biopsy they wanted it done within 2 weeks of the appointment but due to my son being unwell it has been cancelled a few times. He's having it done on monday.

The gastro streesed to me that it is not normal even though every other dr we've seen in the past basicley told me the opposite.

littlemaemae · 01/04/2016 17:36

Hi we are waiting for the doctor, the nurse things there is a blockage and she needs an enema to get things going. Then go from there.
She is getting quite upset and angry waiting, she's exhausted.
Poor baby.
Dp and dd6 are here too.
Thank you for all your kind words I don't think I would have had the strength to push back if it wasn't you all the support X

Sorry you are going through this, but well done for advocating for your daughter. You're in the right place, and she will get the treatment she needs now. I hope they will investigate properly while she's in, and give you a plan for going forward.

cakeycakeface · 01/04/2016 17:39

Good luck. Your DD has been a Star through all this.

SugarDiabetes · 01/04/2016 17:39
Thanks
notyourmummy · 01/04/2016 17:44

I hope you get seen soon and the right treatment started.x

WipsGlitter · 01/04/2016 17:47

Hope they get the enema done soon. It won't be pleasant but it's a start to getting things sorted.

BecauseMaui · 01/04/2016 17:49

Finally they are listening! Thanks

FeralBeryl · 01/04/2016 17:56

Have they listened to her tummy?
Is she still farting/pooing!
And have they discussed doing an X-ray?
Let her watch crap videos of random people opening kinder eggs on your phone to keep her busy, it's all the rage in the world of the 3 year old apparently Confused

NotQuiteSoOnEdge · 01/04/2016 18:01

I really hope they can make your DD feel better VERY quickly.

AnyFucker · 01/04/2016 18:01

I can't see a second set of photos. Confused

Glad you are on the ward though. This should have happened days ago.

bakeoffcake · 01/04/2016 18:05

Hopefully she is in the best place now, but you need to keep pushing, don't be fobbed off with just an enema and then home.

She needs investigations into WHY this is happening.

Timepasses · 01/04/2016 18:06

I am so glad your dd is being seen at last. Well done you. ThanksThanks

Imnotaslimjim · 01/04/2016 18:06

I can't see the 2nd photos either but I'm glad you're getting her seen to if she's getting worse. I hope it isn't too rough for her

VagueIdeas · 01/04/2016 18:07

Totally agree with bakeoff. If they try to send you home after only doing an enema, that's not good enough.

Louise43210 · 01/04/2016 18:07

Bless her, I feel uncomfortable for her.

Imnotaslimjim · 01/04/2016 18:07

The photo has shown up now I've posted. Poor little might, she must be so uncomfortable, I hope she is seen to quickly

coffeeisnectar · 01/04/2016 18:09

Shocked at those photos, poor little love.

So glad she's on the ward and hope that they sort this now. And then I'd seriously consider an official complaint about the next to useless GP about the whole bloody fiasco once she's on the mend. I'd be utterly fuming in your shoes.

Really hope they can relieve that discomfort and pain. Worrying that she's so lethargic and getting a temp which tends to indicate that she's getting an infection or her body isn't coping. She's in the right place.

pupsiecola · 01/04/2016 18:11

Can I just say, having followed this thread from the beginning, that you are sounding strong and focussed. I'm wondering if you are aware of that shift yourself. I feel quite proud of you given how wobbly you felt a little while ago.

Couldn't agree more. You are doing so well.

aleC4 · 01/04/2016 18:12

So glad you are in the right place, really hope they can make her feel more comfortable soon.

VagueIdeas · 01/04/2016 18:15

I can see the photos now. Goodness, MUCH worse. You can see how tiny her frame is and now massive her abdomen is in comparison. Poor little mite.

MissBeaHaving · 01/04/2016 18:19

I'm so glad something is finally being done for LittleMae,I really hope she gets the enema quickly & feels better very soon.
Hopefully you can then find out why this has happened.

It seems very clear that she's been passed around this week instead of being admitted & I hope the hospital ask why she hasn't been seen sooner & that the GP is complained about /made accountable for prolonging a little girls suffering needlessly!
