To spend £1000

I want a luxury spa and Michelin star restaurant for me and my DP. Live in the Midlands, so open to a lot of areas.

Looked at The Priory in Bath and The Grovesnor in Chester so far. I want utter decadence, but not sure whether these places will offer that. Upto £1000 for two nights.

Am I asking too much for the cost?

Ok well I've had experience of all the 2016 uk spas in the guide / booked to go and they are all good

Jaimx86 · 28/03/2016 00:35

Okay Glue, but which have Michelin stared restaurants and which was your favourite? My question was hardly MasterMind.

Fucks sake OP

Anyone else watch The Real Housewives of.....

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 28/03/2016 00:41

OP. I think you might find that 'utter decadence', and 'luxury spa' can be had for a couple of hundred pounds. Many restaurants are Michelin starred.

Exquisite, boutique, truly stylish places are quite a different thing. I know some fabulous ones, and there's not a chance I'd reveal them to you as I would really not wish to encounter someone like you whilst staying there.

LikeDylanInTheMovies · 28/03/2016 00:43

In her mind the op' is probably auditioning for the Real Housewives of Dudley.

cleaty · 28/03/2016 00:45

I really liked The Langham Hotel in London before it was taken over. That felt properly decadent, now it just feels too corporate.
I can recommend though if you are staying in London, that it is great fun, and not expensive, to have breakfast at The Shard.

shazzarooney99 · 28/03/2016 00:55

LikeDylanInTheMovies , could even go to the black country museum too.

VertigoNun · 28/03/2016 00:57

I like TRHW franchise, is there really a Dudley one?

Jaimx86 · 28/03/2016 01:01

To be clear...

I don't wish to wind anyone up, if just like the expertise from qualified Mumsnetters as I trust that some would have excellent suggestions. My birthday is the weekend before Christmas, and prices seem inflated at this point. However, I'd rather pay more for a great experience than be restricted to £1000 and be disappointed. That's why I asked for help from those in the know.

Luxury Spa...Michelin star restaurant.....This isn't just a romantic couples retreat..This is an M and S, Utterly decadent, romantic, couples retreat.

That's what I keep hearing in my head every time I read Utterly decadent!

Jaimx86 · 28/03/2016 01:04

Exaspersted.., thanks for your help.

You are welcome. I did make suggestions up thread but also pointed out they were in Scotland so maybe too far.

What I will say though. Is if you are booking for the week before Christmas. You will need to check it's not somewhere that hosts Christmas party nights etc or no matter how much you spend you could be distributed with drunk people staying over after work nights outs.

Jaimx86 · 28/03/2016 01:12

If LOVE to spend time in Scotland. My DP has traveled around there and my brother just had an excellent 21st in Edinburgh. Might look to Scotland in the future, but would prfer something within two hours for now.

There's a Premier Inn near Basingstoke, and probably a Greggs for a sly pasty or three. What's not to like?

Jaimx86 · 28/03/2016 01:13

So, anyone stayed at the Grovesnor?

Asking strangers for a favour of spending time providing you with reviews would be better done nicely - being rude will get you the replies that you have - more flies with honey and all that.

Jaimx86 · 28/03/2016 01:15

If pastries are your tjing, November, that's fine...but i don't fancy revamping my wardrobe for size 10-12. I'm stick to my original plan, thanks.

Jaimx86 · 28/03/2016 01:21
