I've noticed a huge influx lately of people starting OPs like this, or starting responses 'hi Op'.
Don't even get me started on the X's.

I use OP because my memory is non existent by page 20 and can't be arsed to scroll on my phone. Either you're taking the piss or genuinely need to step away from the internet if 'hi Op, hi ladies' pisses you off.

The use of 'OP' is not a problem.
It's introducing your response every time
'Hi Op, Just wanted to say xyz'

I haven't heard a good 'Wotcha' since about 1984.

Hi OP, I too can't be arsed to scroll back on a phone and I use it to make clear I'm responding to the OP and not another comment in the thread.
I also now hate my user name: I'm not called Charley, I'm not 50 or born in 1950, and I'm not a man. And when I first went on MN two years ago I didn't put much thought into it cuz I had no idea I would become ridiculously addicted to the cuntychops site

It came up a while back Peace and everyone seemed to think it was fine. I think it's a bit odd to quote when you can just type the name, bold it and comment on what they said, but that's just me.

TBF I have started doing it a bit but I am not entirely comfortable with it.
