Bit of a rant. Has anyone else been moved three times because of the doctors
Strike? I'm booked in for ELCS originally today, then tomorrow, then Friday. Now Monday!

Slowly loosing hope! That and I'm now sofa/bed bound due to hip/back complications. I'm just wondering if anyone is in a similar situation.

Wow, fabulous responses, thank you so much all of you. The quality of the debate is usually much lower than this, not just in the Daily Mail but also on radio 4 (with their confrontational 3 minute interview jousts).

I was going to ask why people like Parallax aren't in charge of the BMA but then read that she is a woman from a comp. school. Question answered. It's probably led by men who enjoy being told they are the "brightest and best"

If only I didn't have to work and could afford to move and had the political skills and the understanding of economics I'd move to London and sort the bastards out!

I keep thinking also about what was said about how decision makers in 50 years may not be called drs. Fascinating.

MissTriggs Grin I agree - nice to have an actual informed debate! Although, slightly lost on whether OP got her ELCS yesterday?! Come back OP!

Nice to see some proper debate but also, this thread has been an eye-opener about the disdain that medics seem to have for every other profession. I would still support better working conditions for them (with caveats) but to be honest I no longer feel like doing so, having discovered that they believe other careers are crap and they could do them all with their eyes shut.

LOL re the OP. Maybe she was reading this as distraction as the needle slid in... (doubt it)

The disdain thing certainly exists in some Drs. but obviously they aren't on this thread because they wouldn't be talking to us. The challenge is to get rid of the bad things from the past (the arrogance which medic friends confirm is live and well) without throwing out the good things.

It's not the nurses and other services next, these were started to be eroded several years ago with re banding and fewer qualified nurses per shift. I have seen a huge rise in pressure on the other staff since I qualified a long time ago. It's just the the RCN didn't do anything about it

Hello everyone!

Sorry I've lost this thread I'll get back up to speed.

The ELCS went ahead, the whole team at Darlington memorial hospital were nothing short of bloody fantastic. Those midwifes, HCS deserve a medal. I did have a bit of a do and lost blood, passed out etc etc but the team were beyond brilliant.

Lorna Angeline Marsden arrived 14/03/16 weighing 9lbs!!!

Hunt is a no nothing idiot who is endangering any common sense solution. Cameron should get shot of him.

Not sure how I can across this post but some members definitely predicted the future here with all the doctors not taking up posts because of the poor pay and working conditions! Having an ELCS delayed is the norm now!
