AIBU to think a male paedophile rapist should definitely go to a male prison?

And it shouldn't just be "likely"?

People like 'Stephonknee' used to be called 'adult babies'. It's a kink, a fetish, nothing more nothing less. Perfectly acceptable in private between consenting adults of course but not when it's inflicted upon the rest of us, especially when it's allowed to shape legal policies.
The majority of MTT's are autogynephiles (another sexual fetish), again something perfectly acceptable in private between consenting adults but not something thing that needs to be catered for in public spaces and certainly not in womens prisons. The fact that this is even up for debate is absurd. The very fact that that Ayrton is referred to as a 'transwoman' and 'she' within a newspaper is absurd, IMO. Whatever happened to actual basic common sense and general intelligence? A 5 year old child could do better.
Very glad that this debate is still open on Mumsnet and the site hasn't been overrun by tumblr twats and SJW's.

"Thanks Beyond, I appreciate it.

Regarding Steph on knee I'm more concerned about her pretend 'dad' who seemingly gets off on fucking a pretend six year old girl up the arse.

Isn't he quite ...dangerous?"

Yes Hennifer. From what I remember there is an actual child living in that situation, the grand daughter of the "adoptive father". She is encouraged to play with stephonknee as one of her peers. Her carer gets off on roleplaying having sex with a child. He is a paedophile. It's fucked up and I hope they are under investigation by the proper authorities.

Hennifer · 05/03/2016 17:41

Oh Jeez Sad

CamboricumMinor · 05/03/2016 18:11

In the absence of the death penalty then a male prison seems most appropriate, yes.

Suggesting that trans women are missing out on the same rights as women, implies that women have enough rights in the first place. They don't. Nowhere near enough, yet. Hence needing additional protections that men don't need to have. That's not a privilege we have.

On that basis, I'm honestly, genuinely, not entirely sure what "equal" footing trans women are looking for? To be treated as equal people? Or to be treated as women are treated now?

If we were on an equal footing with men around the world, we wouldn't need the protections we continue to fight for. Women want to be treated as equals, nothing more, nothing less. It's our biology that has men treating us less fairly, so I find it difficult to stomach being told that men's biology is causing them to be treated less fairly because they have the biology that automatically puts them at privilege, but they feel/want/believe they should have the biology that puts them at a disadvantage and thus they are more disadvantaged. Or something..... This whole topic makes my head spin. Confused

Edeline · 05/03/2016 21:18

Exactly. It's like oppression tourism. Trans activists raise merry hell about the barest perceived slight or insult ('misgendering is violence against transpeople!' 'Lesbians not accepting my penis is bigotry!') precisely because they have no freaking clue what real oppression (the kind us boring old natal women are born into) is like, and, more to the point, they don't care. Sometimes I rather suspect that they just enjoy the drama of their perceived injustices...

Bifflepants · 05/03/2016 21:19

Sorry if this has already been posted, as I haven't had time to RTFT yet, but here's a link to show that not only are women prisoners in Australia being attacked by transgender prisoners, but that it is not even considered to be a major concern:

www.smh.com.au/news/national/did-hall-get-fellow-prisoner-pregnant/2006/09/21/1158431837244.html

This link makes references to women prisoners being attacked and impregnated, and that it is not clear who made them pregnant, as there are more than one dangerous transgender prisoners in with them. But the main focus of the article is not whether the women prisoners are safe, but about whether the transgender prisoner should get parole or not. Stuff the women!

shinynewusername · 05/03/2016 21:57

oppression tourism

Brilliant - exactly.

MrsToddsShortcut · 05/03/2016 22:26

^ This. Absolutely.

Bloody hell Biffle :( I googled his name and found a really scary article: www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/nsw/sex-change-killer-to-be-free-as-a-bird/story-e6freuzi-1225849057946

RufusTheReindeer · 05/03/2016 22:37

Fucking hell biffle

I said it on another thread (i think)

But where are all the posters that said these sorts of things wouldnt hapoen

I want them to read that and then tell me again that it hasnt hapoened and wouldnt happen

Although i am guessing that they would consider them not to be a "proper" trans woman

RufusTheReindeer · 05/03/2016 22:41

lynda

Good lord its getting worse

I dont get it...i honestly dont get it. Hkw fucking stupid can people be!!

RufusTheReindeer · 05/03/2016 22:42

Thats obviously supposed to be "how"

Stupid fucking ipad

shinynewusername · 05/03/2016 22:43

That Australian article is heart-breaking. Imagine the terror of his cellmate being raped in a locked room. I hope she sued the prison authorities.

Bifflepants · 06/03/2016 01:30

Lynda and again in the article you link, little but a passing mention is given to the women he raped and attacked in prison. It's as if they don't matter.

Bifflepants · 06/03/2016 01:33

shiny - no, from what I can tell it looks as if she was released and quietly went back to NZ, dropping the rape charges.

Essel · 06/03/2016 01:57

This doesn't surprise me.

I've barely seen any public debate from women/feminists on this issue in australia. The only time I have seen someone try to raise it on a forum they were either a lone voice or a tiny minority and were shut down for being transphobic.

Nor did I see any reporting, let alone debate about the change to the rules for participating with women in the olympics.

This is all a total non issue in Australia, which surprised me as I thought Sheila Jeffreys might have stimulated some debate in oz, but nope.

The trans agenda is delivered in schools as part of an LGBTIQA anti bullying program. Saying a trans woman is not a woman is bullying. Unisex facilities are not adequate.

MargaretRiver · 06/03/2016 02:26

I was born into the wrong body

I identify as a slim, athletic young woman with fabulous glossy hair
And I'm trapped inside the body of an overweight middle aged woman with greying frizzy hair

How dare hot young men not find me attractive!
How dare society find me invisible and not give me jobs in entertainment, music, movies....

The NHS should pay for my hotness reassignment surgery, and if if I can't be bothered with that, or with the dieting /exercise / blow drying/ hair dye necessary to keep up the illusion, everybody has to treat me exactly the same as if I was stunning

BeyondTellsEveryoneRealFacts · 06/03/2016 08:04

It wont have opposition in aus, its a rather conservative country isnt it? Conservative countries tend to buy into the whole "wrong body" thing as it decreases the number of "the gays" as it medicalises their personalities/sexuality (butch lesbians = man, effeminate gay = woman).

See Iran's laws on homosexuality/amount of transpeople, and for a perfect example, see Jenner the republican homophobe (or for a UK one, homophobe and wife-beating boxer/Ukipper, Maloney)

BeyondTellsEveryoneRealFacts · 06/03/2016 08:19

Just to point out here (as i didnt know when i saw it, so i assume others dont!) there is no legal gay marriage in aus.

Happyrouter · 06/03/2016 11:51

Aus are miles behind in all forms of equality so no surprise there.

Happyrouter · 06/03/2016 11:53

I think women's eyes are being opened to this very slowly, one by one, but the fact that all mainstream media are promoting the TA agenda makes this an extremely slow process and I think women are on a clock to galvanise support before Maria Millers proposals become law. Lord knows how.

MrsJamin · 06/03/2016 11:58

Write to your mp now. That's the main way. If we all did this it would be a very good start. I keep thinking there should be a parliamentary petition but I don't want to be the one to start it :(
