Reading the threads and sometimes the usernames are very funny! Mine is exceedingly dull; I'd just found out I was pregnant and had a question for the pregnancy board - hence being scared and new.

Tonight (whilst waiting for said baby to go the F to sleep!) I am laughing at needascarfformygiraffe.

So indulge/entertain a sleep deprived zombie - what's your name and where does it come from?

Mine just came to me in a moment of glory. I have nothing against him but i don't get the fascination with Benedict Cumberbatch. I always thought his name sounded a bit saucy though and then realised its because it sounds like this ^^ Grin

I've had many names in the past but I think this one is here to stay, hopefully! (Probably not though as I always put way too many details in my posts!)

I too love EatShitDerek as well as StillStayingClassySanDiego

Also like CheerfulYank just because it sounds friendly :)

BendydickCuminsnatch · 02/03/2016 08:41

Also Poocatcher and AtYourCervix although haven't seen her around lately? Or maybe I've got the name slightly wrong... She was a midwife so made sense!

BarefootAcrossHotLegoPieces · 02/03/2016 08:42

I love TheJoyfulPuddleJumper as it sounds so cheery.

GideonZack, like your usual and current names.

Mine was inspired by IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece and a book about walking barefoot over hot coals.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 02/03/2016 08:42

I do worry my name reads as 'cumin - snatch' (the spice), but ''comein' looked wrong

BarefootAcrossHotLegoPieces · 02/03/2016 08:43

I read it as "cum in my" as I think that's the internet meme...

BendydickCuminsnatch · 02/03/2016 08:45

Ooh i didn't know it was a meme! Not so clever then, boo!

BarefootAcrossHotLegoPieces · 02/03/2016 08:46

Massively filthy though, so congrats for that Grin

ReasonablyIntelligent · 02/03/2016 08:50

My Chemistry Teacher is secondary school once gave me a bollocking after class for something (I can't remember what now... missed homework perhaps) and in amongst her ranting said "Come on now, XXXXX, you're a reasonably intelligent girl..."
I was outraged in the way only a teenager can be and ranted about it to my Mum, who thought it was hilarious. To this day I still get teased with "well that's reasonably correct".

FWIW, Mrs Chemistry Teacher, I was in the top 1% of the country in all of my exams and now earn 6 figures at age 24. Pfffttttt
(Also I'm coming across as quite the princess! Sorry!)

If I ever write an Autobiography it's going to be called "Reasonably Intelligent"!

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 02/03/2016 08:52

Sorry but it does Grin

Very x rated

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 02/03/2016 08:56

Ah I see you wanted to look filthy..I thought you were being shy Grin

Not awake yet

RaspberryOverload · 02/03/2016 08:59

I simply had a glut of raspberries last year. I absolutely love them... Grin

I named changed after hackergate, my original name having been on that list.

Might change again if I find something that makes me laugh.

Savagebeauty · 02/03/2016 09:04

I've had many name changes, usually to do with a rock icon.
But my current one is homage to the beautiful Alexander McQueen.

SewButtons · 02/03/2016 09:07

Mine is what my mother used to say in response to mine and Dsisters teenage whinging of "soooo?"
She still does it now if I ever end a sentence with so? Or if I use it as a complete sentence.

NinaSimoneful · 02/03/2016 09:26

No funny story with my name.

My fave MM username is AlpacaPicnic

I remember someone's was SconeRhymesWithGone which I read anyway with the other pronounation of scone (rhyming with cone rather than gone iyswim)

AtticusFlinch · 02/03/2016 09:34

Mine's a roller derby nickname that I love. My favourite is MaliceInWonderland, but that was already taken!

Nanny0gg · 02/03/2016 09:40

Another Pratchett name.

I am a Nanny (grandmother), which is a no-no on MN. So I had to choose the name of my favourite character, who would love sticking two fingers up to the snobby Nanny-haters on here.

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 02/03/2016 09:44

I love Parks and Recs. My family always laugh at how similar I am to Leslie Blush

Krampus · 02/03/2016 09:46

Changed it for Christmas and been too lazy to change it again, that's my job for later.

ZaZathecat · 02/03/2016 09:47

Mine's from a kids' TV programme from my childhood - Hector's House.

Bodicea · 02/03/2016 09:50

My nieces called my cat boris bodice. I added the A later on as was worried family on mumsnet might clock on who I was!

heygotanygrapes · 02/03/2016 09:54

Youtube - the duck song
Got my dc to thank for it

LadyGnome · 02/03/2016 09:55

I decided Lord Gnome from Private Eye needed a wife.

I like the names that play on words like
ElenorHandbasket
DawnDonna

As a Pratchett fan I love all the TP nicknames, my current favourite is
GlomofNit

DropYourSword · 02/03/2016 10:08

Aw DawnoftheDoggers it didn't occur to me your name referenced dogging. I naively was thinking of the very cute children's story 'Dogger'. Which is ruined for me forever more now.

I also like EatShitDerek simply because on a thread similar to this asking for explanations of your name they made me laugh out loud by saying "Shakespeare quote".
