Reading the threads and sometimes the usernames are very funny! Mine is exceedingly dull; I'd just found out I was pregnant and had a question for the pregnancy board - hence being scared and new.

Tonight (whilst waiting for said baby to go the F to sleep!) I am laughing at needascarfformygiraffe.

So indulge/entertain a sleep deprived zombie - what's your name and where does it come from?

I've had a few Hmmbut this one is the name Hermione Granger changed into a Hobbit name by some online name changer thingy. (I'm a huge HP fan.)
I like OhYouBadKitten and Sparklingbrook.

BigDamnHero · 02/03/2016 10:24

It's a Firefly reference.

I had a different one when I first signed up and used the same as my blogging pseudonym since only a few friends and family members read my blog.

But then I started to write more and consider trying to be an actual 'blogger' and I joined the Mumsnet Bloggers Network and one of my blogs was blog of the day and I thought it probably wasn't a good idea to have two places I reveal quite a lot about myself linked by the same name (especially when one was featured on the other).

Mine is sentimental Smile when I was a teen, I was finally able to leave my narc mother who tried to withhold contact from my dad. I left home and moved in with him.

He used to walk to the shop, despite this mobility issues, everyday to get me some cranberry juice as it was my favourite. I love my dad so much. 😊❤️

iwuddarryl · 02/03/2016 10:45

evenoldergregg · 02/03/2016 11:42

When my 6 year old was a toddler, she used to point to my Old Gregg (character from Mighty Boosh) fridge magnet and say, "That looks like you Mummy". Mumsnet wouldn't allow username Old Gregg, probably as it's already been taken.

Also considered:
GOTAMANGINA (Also Old Gregg.)
TERRIBLECUNT (from Withnail and I, but thought that must have been
taken already.)

SanityClause · 02/03/2016 12:50

Mine is a quote from a Marx Bros film - "No one believes in a Sanity Clause.

It was a Christmas name change, but I liked it, so I kept it.

It does worry me a bit that people who don't know the quote will think I am trying to imply that I am the voice of reason.

Names I like are;

MardyBra
HeartsTrumpDiamonds
LyingWitchInTheWardrobe

TheVeganVagina · 02/03/2016 13:06

Then someone accidentally called me U2HasTheEdge so I changed it.

handslikecowstits · 02/03/2016 13:14

CordeliaFrost · 02/03/2016 13:19

Mine is the name of a (minor) mutant character in the Marvel comic book universe, she was affiliated with the Hellfire Club, which has featured in various X-Men comics over the years.

I'm a Marvel nerd fan, so when I joined MN, I tapped the depths of my Marvel knowledge for something I was sure wouldn't be taken!

LadyFuchsiaGroan · 02/03/2016 13:22

LegoRuinedMyFinances · 02/03/2016 13:27

Can I just say I love the names JeremyZackHun and GoveUckYourself. I am sat in the office giggling away at those names.

My all time favourite name is TitsalinaBumSquash. Nice poster, brilliant name.

Mine is self explanatory, although I always want to be more witty when name changing, but I'm just not very funny.
