Reading the threads and sometimes the usernames are very funny! Mine is exceedingly dull; I'd just found out I was pregnant and had a question for the pregnancy board - hence being scared and new.

Tonight (whilst waiting for said baby to go the F to sleep!) I am laughing at needascarfformygiraffe.

Mine's from a favourite childhood book. Anyone remember it? Albert's mother had a particularly impressive bottom (rather like mine) which is displayed in all it's glory whilst she is scrubbing the floor. Albert Herbert Hawkins was the naughtiest boy in the world!

Mine is a play on ethyl mercaptan, the stuff they add to gas so you can smell it and arguably the smelliest substance in the world. I read in the Guinness book of records as a child that it is detectable in minute concentrations, like 1 part in 2 billion or something, and was fascinated.

Thanks jimpam! I joined mumsnet 18 months ago when I found myself unexpectedly pregnant. I'm 31 not 16 and have a supportive dh but I was a bit thrown by it. I'm a huge Gilmore Girls fan and found MN and GG a huge comfort when no one in RL understood how I was feeling. 16 and pregnant also used to really cheer me up
