Playdate DCs haven't been picked up. Should I drop them off?

So a mum from my DCs school asked me to have her two DCs today as her two are the same age/in the same class as my two youngest.
The DCs have been here a couple of times before but usually I arrange this with their dad and he picks them up.
But he is away on business and so their mum asked me to take them today as a favour whilst she is in work.

I've had them since 9 this morning. She was supposed to pick them up at 6:30. I called her at 7 and 7:30 and 8 and 8:15 but she's not replying. I have text her a number of times and nothing.

My DCs should be in bed. Her eldest isn't bothered but her youngest is getting upset saying that she should be in bed. I haven't told them that their mum should have picked them up by now.

Should I go round to theirs? I don't want to worry the DCs if their mum isn't there when we get there. But I would like to know where she is. So would I be unreasonable to go round there?

This is very worrying. The poor little 4 year old :(

Well done calling the police op. I'm still hoping it's just something very, very boring, like a bad traffic jam and a dead phone battery.
The dad might not be answering because he's on a flight.

BigQueenBee Can you honestly not be bothered to scroll back 40 posts? Before you make a sarcastic comment? Hmm Christ!

smallplainblonde · 21/02/2016 23:02

This is so worrying OP. Hope everything turns out ok. You're handling this so well Flowers

turkeylovessprout · 21/02/2016 23:03

Theangeloofnit - I was thinking this. If he went away on 'business' and she had her doubts. Maybe she followed him up there or something. Unlikely, but possible.

PainAuChocolat23 · 21/02/2016 23:03

Really hope that the dc's mum is alright Flowers

penguinplease · 21/02/2016 23:04

Also finding this quite worrying, I hope all is well.

twiglet474 · 21/02/2016 23:04

I hope all is ok. Xxx

bessiebumptious2 · 21/02/2016 23:04

Hope she turns up soon.

Missanneshirley · 21/02/2016 23:05

Is the relationship between the mum and dad ok op? Altho I guess you never really know what goes on in other people's lives. Just wondering if maybe they could have had a fight, or he's left or something and she's not coping well?

Harverina · 21/02/2016 23:05

What a worry. Glad the children are sleeping now. Hopefully they will have a settled night.

Hoping for good news soon. Something has obviously happened to prevent her coming back Sad

Baconyum · 21/02/2016 23:06

Police being involved makes it unlikely she's been in an accident or taken unwell they'd know. They'd check with hospitals as well as home and workplace.

Very worrying well done op for looking after the children as calmly as possible hope your dc aren't too worried by the situation.

Crazypetlady · 21/02/2016 23:06

Oh god hope all is ok I'm hoping the mum has just been held up but it's looking unlikely

BathtimeFunkster · 21/02/2016 23:06

So worrying. Poor kiddie Sad

Well done to you OP for looking after the children and keeping it together.

I really hope she's OK.

Recordmirror · 21/02/2016 23:06

My friend is on standby in case I need to leave so she can watch the DCs.
The dad is overseas so I don't think she will be with him.
I have work tomorrow but it's afternoons so I will have time in the morning to sort things out (hopefully it will be fine by then though).

The mum seemed fine this morning, grateful I was taking the DCs. She seemed happy enough though as I said I don't really know her so I can't really be sure.

God I read this earlier and thought she'd have turned up ages ago all flustered after having a flat tyre or something Sad
How worrying for you OP i think your doing everything you can under the circumstances Flowers

lifesalongsong · 21/02/2016 23:07

Oh dear, it's not good news that the office has been closed since 8, I wonder how well they check before they lock up, the mum might have fainted in her office or in the toilets and maybe still there. If not an accident on the way to yours would be the next obvious thing to have happened.

Whatever it is I hope the police find her soon

miserablemoo · 21/02/2016 23:08

Hope you hear something soon op. Hope the mum is ok.

notenoughbottle · 21/02/2016 23:08

What a massive worry, even i'm sat here now hoping the mum is ok so god knows how you are feeling.

Paddingtonsmarmaladesandwiches · 21/02/2016 23:09

I truly thought she would have turned up by now. OP you're doing brilliantly. Hope there is a good outcome here and soon for you and those kids.

frankie001 · 21/02/2016 23:09

Fingers crossed for a happy ending. Well done op x

LaLaLaaaa · 21/02/2016 23:09

I'm confused - why are you not phoning the police? Something could have happened to her and the sooner people are looking for her the better

Poor children and poor you ;(

clam · 21/02/2016 23:09

Why are so many people repeating he fact that there was a similar thread a while back? RTFT, we know!!

Harverina · 21/02/2016 23:09

Is her phone still ringing out?

Strange that the dad hasn't even looked at his phone all this time but probably completely unrelated.

Have the police been in touch again?

MagratsFlyawayHair · 21/02/2016 23:10

LaLa the OP HAS phoned the police.

turkeylovessprout · 21/02/2016 23:10

She has phoned the police LaLa, they are onto it.
