What's in your makeup bag ladies?

Which foundation do you use? And do you wear makeup everyday?

Does anyone ever do this? I just used ctrl+f to search this thread for how many use Estee Lauder Double Wear. I was curious as the reason I tried it was because of S&B recommending it to someone who wanted full coverage.

Anyway, I have two colours of DW. I decant a few drops at a time into an old clean glass pot (was a nivea primer that was awful!) and I dip my make up brush into this - saves waste and mess. When I get to the end of a bottle I will leave it up ended in the glass pot for however long it takes to get the last drips out of those terrible bottles! I still think I don't have the right colour but I'm going into a big town in a few weeks and I'm going to go back to the counter and try again - also going to ask for recommendations for lipstick at the MAC counter while I'm there as I shy away from pink-based ones, always buy ones that are more brown, and they never suit me!

I use Maybelline mascara and l'oreal and revlon eye liners, and a maybelline nude eye shaddow. There's a pot of Elizabeth Arden 8hour skin protectant - the thick vaseline stuff. I put a little bit of this around my eyes, nose and mouth before make up (or before bed or anytime of day really, I have pots everywhere!). That forms the basis of what I do most days.

There's a revlon blusher that doesn't get used much at the moment. There's a selection of brushes and sponges, tweezers, a kiehl's hand slave, a MAC cover up that I sometimes mix with the DW for more coverage, a benefit pore professional that I found I didn't need when I used the EA8H stuff. Ooh, and an OLD MAC face and body foundation that I should throw out but I tend to take on holidays when it's going to be hot and I don't want a lot of makeup. I also just discovered I have a revlon photo ready concealer. Can't recall why I bought it. AAAANd last but not least I just found I also have an old Benefit "foundation faker" - I do not know what this is.

Oh, and I don't use a make up bag. I have an old wooden cutlery tray that divides things up nicely and is easy to store and means that my things are always "available" - I don't like rooting around in a bag when I'm in a rush.

Argh LadyCrazyCat. Any mention of cats or kittens and my mind scrambles. Sorry.

I used to wear make up every day to work but now I'm on maternity leave I only wear it if I'm going out for the day.

I don't carry my make up out with me just Vaseline.

I slap on a small tiny amount of all this everyday otherwise I get comments on my health!
For me this is the perfect make up bag and I replace the contents every 10-12 months

Don't really have a make up bag as such, but this is what I have:
Max Factor foundation (I mix it with my moisturiser to create a tinted effect, rather than the full foundation look).
Laura Geller Baked Crème Glaze eyeshadow palette (8 colours, unusually, I use them all equally)
L'Oreal telescopic mascara in carbon black
Liz Earle lip gloss , Guava (pink shimmer) and Mallow (nude but sadly now discontinued).
Wear makeup whenever I leave the house, though I tend to go for a nude or slightly made up look, rather than a full on look.

Forgot to say - I love make up and wear it every day even if I'm just at home. I have very pale skin and eyelashes so without it I look washed out. I don't feel awake without at least some mascara and lipgloss on. Even wear it for dogwalking first thing.

Purplefrog an actress friend gave me a tip on applying eyeliner. She said put it on as badly as you like then take most of it off with a cotton bud dipped in makeup remover. It leaves a thin subtle line of eyeliner just where you want it.

Stuff i use everyday:

Missha bb cream (very full coverage more like a foundation) i buy online as its korean and its the shit

Translucent powder, random cheap brand (have had expensive ones..not worth it at all)

Matte bronzer in very light shade for subtly contour

Mac brown matte eyeshadow to fill in brows very slightly as i have a bald patch!

Benefit roller lash mascara

Dior eyelash primer (expensive but lasts and is brilliant)

It's interesting what bit of make up people think they can't get right.

I've never found a foundation that works. I keep buying them and they are all rubbish. There must be a light one that gives pale skin a golden, natural glow and suits a dry complexion. Any ideas?
