I used to wear a lot of eye makeup and no lipstick but now it's opposite. I wear glasses all the time now so my glasses tend to frame my eyes and I look too overdone wig eye makeup too. Also my eyes tend to water so that's not suck a good look. I guess the bright lip has become my kind of signature look. I look old and knackered and generally unkempt without my makeup, my hair is naturally bonkers so I feel with makeup it looks like it's like it on purpose rather tha. Looking like I've just fallen out of bed!

And I'm treating myself to a new blusher today - any recommendations?!

I shower at the gym most days hence the cleansers etc - usually I'll pop on some mascara, blusher and a tinted lipbalm after. I absolutely love makeup though. I'm lucky to have had good skin so far but before I go out, spending ten minutes at my dressing table with a glass of wine while I do my face is my favourite little introvert ritual!

I don't tend to spend much on blushes as I flush quite easily but I would recommend Daniel Sandlers water colour blush, it's just gorgeous, online only afaik.

Failing that, bourgeois cream blushes are good value and go on well.

I'd love a recommendation for a new foundation (have adult acne, lots of wrinkles, dry forehead and lots of scarring), the ysl is heavy without giving fantastic coverage. Also I feel the kohl is ageing me (am 33, but feel 100 - two dc under 5 who don't sleep through...) but don't know what to replace it with.

Also - contouring? What is? Is it just for youngsters? Feel I may need highlighter or similar.

I am fairly lazy/unbothered re clothes and fashion, quite practical and generally no nonsense (frumpy), but frickin LOVE makeup and this whole thread. I think it's the thwarted creative in me :-)

Pinacolada - I definitely recommend the bobbi brown blush, it's lovely! And the washed rose is very easy to wear but they will recommend a shade if you ask.

I don't have a make-up bag. I have a make up drawer, a make up box, a make up holder, a brush drawer. Cleansers and stuff are separate.
I have a huge mix of things too, from L Oreal infallible foundation to Clarins. Benefit to Maybelline. In my defence,

I keep a bag in my work desk as I often don't bother until I have a meeting, or need a boost (and usually don't have time in the mornings at home!).

My home one is also my travel one, so fits into a small see through pouch. I have an almost full set again in my dressing table but the eyeshadows are in the pouch, and most lipsticks are in the drawer. And I tend to use full-sized proper brushes at home, and decent but smaller brushes when travelling so don't bother taking those out of the pouch at home usually.

Monkey, I used to have terrible acne and still have some scarring. MAC studio fix is the only liquid foundation I've found that gives decent coverage but doesn't feel heavy or break me out in spots.

Very tempted to give Diorskin Forever a try based on this thread though. In fact, I can see this thread being very dangerous for my bank balance

I'm excited to read about the YSL BB cream. They used to do an excellent product they called complexion enhancer but discontinued it. Sounds like the cream us same stuff. Hurrah!

BB cream, various lippies (most of which my mom passed on to me, as she buys darkish ones then decides that she doesn't like the colour), and black mascara. Sadly, these days, I do wear make-up every day - gone are the days when I thought I looked great without it! I always tend to wear the same stuff, though.

I have a tesco mini bag thing with some odds and ends in it. Some weird Avon primer bumph, some weird ass pear things, brown mascara, a few different lipsticks. I think there's an urban decay eyeshadow set in there somewhere too. Not really important to me, so rarely bother. I do like looking at all the colours when I'm out and about, I just can't be arsed to use them :o
