Do these stars not look in the mirror?
Or have honest friends to tell them?
Why does no-one wear tights anymore?

Of course they can get away with it. What exactly do you think will happen to them other than pathetic people like you whingeing about it on the internet?

gooseberryroolz · 15/02/2016 21:01

If you pay for a good branded fake tan, you won't look orange or streaky, or look like you've been dipped in gravy. You can get a fake tan for paler skinned ladies so it looks perfectly natural while giving them a healthy glow.

She doesn't look UNhealthy now. So that would be a lot of effort for precisely no gain.

Chippednailvarnish · 15/02/2016 21:02

And I love the fact that she has lines and wrinkles and still looks lovely.

Very passive aggressive.

LogicalThinking · 15/02/2016 21:04

spoil the effect she's trying to achieve.
How do you know what effect she was trying to achieve?
She might have been going for a 'this is what my legs looks like' kind of look!
I think she has gorgeous legs and it is lovely to see them bare, pale and beautiful.

iPaid · 15/02/2016 21:08

If a black person had legs that didn't look good uncovered at a red carpet style event, I'd suggest they cover them up. so don't try making this a racial issue.

Exactly ipaid.
Also black people tend to have nicer legs than paler people in general (of course) so.....

RudeElf · 15/02/2016 21:09

Looking "good" is a matter of opinion. Quit talking like yours is fact.

Opinions are like arseholes...

iPaid · 15/02/2016 21:10

Chipped - how is it passive aggressive?

Lottie quit your goading.

Aussiemum78 · 15/02/2016 21:11

And a petticoat. Why doesn't anyone wear a petticoat anymore????

expatinscotland · 15/02/2016 21:11

'If a black person had legs that didn't look good uncovered at a red carpet style event, I'd suggest they cover them up. so don't try making this a racial issue.'

Would you ever suggest their legs didn't look good uncovered because the skin on them was an unsatisfactory colour? Because that's what's happening here, the suggestion is that her legs are too pale/white so she needs to wear tights or fake tan.

gooseberryroolz · 15/02/2016 21:11

I didn't. Lottie did.

You won't explain what your issue with JM's legs IS, despite being asked a hundred times, so Lottie's insistence that she should change her skin colour has become more interesting than your posts.

It is a strange thing to say someone 'should' do, to dye their skin.

iPaid · 15/02/2016 21:12

Rude - it's a talk forum where we give our opinion, without having to preface every remark with "in my opinion ..."

RudeElf, you are joking, aren't you?

Seems to me if you don't want to hear others' opinions you might want to refrain from reading public message boards on the internet. Expressing opinion is rather the raison d'etre of discussion fora, after all.

iPaid · 15/02/2016 21:15

Would you ever suggest their legs didn't look good uncovered because the skin on them was an unsatisfactory colour?

If the skin tone was uneven and ruined effect they were trying to achieve - yes.

OP posts:
NoelHeadbands · 15/02/2016 21:16

What effect do you think she might be trying to achieve?

Lottie2611 · 15/02/2016 21:16

I'm not goading. I'm very interested in fashion, and personally do things to enhance myself. So threads like these are of interest to me.
Just because some women would rather put on a dress and go, doesn't mean I'm wrong. I'm entitled to comment just as you are.

gooseberryroolz · 15/02/2016 21:17

You're still not going to tell us how you know 'what she was trying to achieve' either are you ipaid? Grin

ZiggyFartdust · 15/02/2016 21:17

But how do you know what "effect she was trying to achieve"? And how would her legs being a slightly different colour or texture achieve a different, somehow better, effect?

Properly bemused here.

expatinscotland · 15/02/2016 21:17

' ruined effect they were trying to achieve - yes.'

What effect? We don't know what effect JM is trying to achieve here. Confused

iPaid · 15/02/2016 21:17

Noel - look glamorous at a formal event. She achieved that until she got to her bare knees. In my option of course.

I'm really glad this issue got picked up on here. I was aghast when I woke this morning to Radio 4 newscasters screaming 2016 BAFTAS RUINED BY ACTRESS' KNEES.

gooseberryroolz · 15/02/2016 21:18

Are you trying to tell us that you're orange lottie? Wink

RudeElf · 15/02/2016 21:19

RudeElf, you are joking, aren't you?

Not in the slightest.

I've no problems with hearing opinion. I dislike them being spouted as fact.

gooseberryroolz · 15/02/2016 21:19

At least James Naughtie would have lent it some gravitas cotton Grin
