To think that Victoria Beckham looks plain daft?

She's in New York to launch her latest collection and has been papped strutting out of hotels in some dreadful outfits. All can be viewed in the Daily Mail but for those of you who don't like to click I will post a few and you can tell me if I'm BU.

Mostly I don't mind them, actually like some but was really not expecting the foulness beneath the yellow jumper!!

I think she looks great and like a model out a catalogue in all the pics. Only one I'm not too keen on us picture four.

celeste83 · 12/02/2016 21:46

She is so thin Sad

The clothes would be fine if the sleeves were the right length but they seem to be dangling half a foot off her arms. Is this done on purpose

Alisvolatpropiis · 12/02/2016 22:03

Don't like the sleeves I the navy jumper but I've seen that on someone I know in real life before, it's hardly trailblazing.

I like VB, she seems an alright sort.

Not sure why it's Sad she's thin? Some women are, it's allowed, it isn't sad. She's always been slim, almost certainly does diet to maintain her preferred weight but so what? She's looked this way for a long, long time and carried 4 children, she's clearly not at a point of thinness where her health is affected.

Look forward to the "Kelly Clarkson has put on so much weight Sad" posts.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 12/02/2016 22:16

I like her clothes and think she she always looks very attractive.

As said up thread, the catwalk to the car from the hotel looks daft and camp but it gives plenty of PR for her brand. The guard holding back the passerby from walking on needs a 'Fuck off love'.

Thatrabbittrickedme · 12/02/2016 22:28

Overall I quite like her style. Love the yellow outfit and generally think the styling is quite practical (who can argue with a nice bulky knit in winter?). However that black jumper with the stupidly long, and debilitating sleeves is just ridiculous...I'm really hoping that style won't take off

Snowybelle · 12/02/2016 22:30

The skirt in the yellow jumper combo looks like part of a dry cleaning uniform from the early 90's

Couple pieces look a little ugly/ridiculous but the others are okay. The black skirt and jumper is nice. None of it would turn heads on the street, but I don't think she wants that. VB sticks to what she knows. She stays classy and mostly conventional. I think the sleeves on the blue jumper are her idea of breaking the mould.

I am not a VB fan nor am I a hater, however I will say that her designs are often like being stuck in a math lesson on geometry and her creative mind often appears limited and trapped by convention. There's nothing wrong with that though if the end result is to your liking.

I also think her clothes serve the older generations well. Most designers are keen to show copious amounts flesh and I know my mom isn't interested in those kind of clothes now. It's her choice to reveal what she wants and there should be classy and fashionable styles like this made available to her.

I think she'd love the dry cleaning skirt actually, so who am I to knock it... This is unrelated but I love my mom.

AvaCrowder · 12/02/2016 22:37

I can't bring it in me to slag her off. I've had builders tell me to cheer up love. The woman does not have to smile to be a decent person. David Beckham does loads looking moody, nobody slags him off for not smiling.

iPaid · 12/02/2016 22:44

You don't have to slag her off. We're discussing the outfits.

I always feel a bit sorry for her - I really don't know why Confused.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 12/02/2016 22:46

I like the skirt and the yellow top
The other outfits though. I'm not that keen but I wouldn't say she looks daft because her style is different to mine

WilLiAmHerschel · 12/02/2016 22:48

I think she looks stylish.

WilLiAmHerschel · 12/02/2016 22:50

I always feel a bit sorry for her - I really don't know why

I do because I think she's married to a not-very-nice-man but on the other hand she is very successful and though she got mocked in the past I think she's taken seriously as a fashion designer and has done well for herself.

Gattabianca · 12/02/2016 23:04

I've not read the thread but I think all of the clothes are beautiful, as is she.

ouryve · 12/02/2016 23:08

To be fair, the wind doesn't really help the best of outfits look good.

Some seriously silly footwear, though.

Tangfastics · 12/02/2016 23:09

Christ on a bike - I'd give up if I were you op, some are determined not to listen.

Who was it who ran the spreadsheet? I've got a few updates for you Grin

applecatchers36 · 12/02/2016 23:09

She always looks so sad and lonely, think it is an unhappy marriage and he doesn't treat her well, is unfaithful.

Her clothes are not to my taste but she is obviously doing well as a designer.

AllPizzasGreatAndSmall · 12/02/2016 23:14

Hooliodancer Of course she restricts her diet! I love being a size 8, but I eat very little and I'm hungry most of the time. My choice and not particularly healthy but true of most very thin people I'm afraid.

It might make you feel better to think most thin people restrict their diet like you have to, but that is not true. Many thin people can eat whatever they want and not get fat, many more eat a normal healthy diet and remain naturally slim, and then some (like you) choose to restrict their food intake to keep their weight artificially low.

Victoria Beckham does restrict her diet. She says so often - while also speaking out against skeletal requirements for models - and, in the Vogue interview above, joked that the film of her life would be titled "The Hunger Games".

She and I would definitely dislike each other in real life, but I admire much about her and like her sardonic humour.

ssd · 12/02/2016 23:35

I feel a bit sorry for her, the desperate need for attention at her age is really sad

KERALA1 · 12/02/2016 23:45

Sorry but if you are 40 plus to stay that thin you either do shed loads of exercise or restrict your diet. I used to be that thin (happy days!) same age as VB and not fat but ahem a long way from that. Everyone I know that thin puts in a lot of effort.
