To not know what to call my daughter...

It's been 2 days since we have had her and it's so stressful for me! I want her to have a name and feel bad she doesn't. I have a thread going in Baby Names and hoping that will get a name to jump out at me, but feel bad as DS had a name when we found out his gender.

How long until you found a name?

We didn't want our little girl to have a really popular name (my sister was one of 3 Jessica's in her year so was always Jess H and hated it). We named her Leoni

Congratulations! I love the name Grace. My friend has an Ellie Grace

Sylvie Grace

You guys have great, great taste! I haunt the name board on WTEIYE and the appalling shizzle people come out with on there would make your eyes bleed

honeylulu · 12/02/2016 16:18

I'm not having any more but if I were to have another daughter she'd be Isadora Joy. (Isadora Grace also sounds nice!)
I also love Lucinda. Though this was my midwife's name and she hated it with a passion which put me off somewhat.

Helgicita · 12/02/2016 17:06

We didn't name our daughter for nearly two weeks. Just chill out, keep your list going and at some point you'll know!
She's absolutely beautiful! x

OhWotIsItThisTime · 13/02/2016 08:49

Eleanor Grace
Sylvia Grace
Francesca Grace

Three syllables goes better with Grace.

AuldYow · 13/02/2016 09:15

Gorgeous picture, she's lucky to have a lovely big brother Thanks

My suggestion would be Louisa Grace - Fletcher and Louisa

FarrowandBallAche · 13/02/2016 13:09

Do you have a name yet OP?

Janeymoo50 · 13/02/2016 13:16

Imogen Grace is what I would have called a daughter. It's classy, timeless and beautiful.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 13/02/2016 13:32

It took my friend 29 days to come up with a name for her DC her DP wasn't really helping only saying no to everythingshe suggested.

We've always gone in with 3 male & 3 female names that we've liked then picked the one that fits once they're born (we haven't found out during scans). If #4 had been a girl we liked- Wren, Quinn & Lorette (or Loretta). I'll out myself by saying this but our DDs are Clara & Darcey.

My Dad wanted call me Hermione or Heather (both much better than my actual name damn Mother). Although I'm kind of glad I didn't end up Hermiome, it's a lovely name, but a I'm from the generation that grew up with HP so im sure my 7 or 8 year old self would have got annoyed with the references.

FFTransform · 13/02/2016 18:06

My 'wish I had thought of it when pregnant' is Dinah

So Dinah Grace??

mathanxiety · 13/02/2016 18:35

I love Dinah. Like you, FFT, it was my 'wish I had thought of it earlier' name.

Princessgenie · 13/02/2016 20:14

Khara · 13/02/2016 20:21

PeppasNanna · 13/02/2016 20:25

Font worry op ds was 7 weeks old before exdp & I settled on ds name!

My youngest dd is a Grace... love her name!

liinyo · 13/02/2016 20:32

She is beautiful. Imogen is nice and feminine and would suit her. It also has a variety of diminutives and it's easy to spell. Lydia would suit her too.

When DD2 was born she was Baby No-Name for about 10 days. Then I started to get upset because no-one was sending us cards (they were waiting until they had a name to put on the card). My husband pounced on my moment of weakness and pushed through a name that English people cannot spell or pronounce, that I had previously resisted.

By the time I woke up the next day I had come to my senses but for the first time ever he had got up before me and hot-tailed it to the registrars office to register her birth.

20 years later she never had her name spelt right on any school programme or honours list and even close relations often mispell it. She has gone to uni in the country where the name originates and although she is not entirely happy there she loves no longer having to explain her name over and over again.

martakeithy · 14/02/2016 13:59

Oo oo! I love Sydney! Had forgotten what an adorable name that was, boy or girl.
I know a little Jasmine and it is sweet, but I kind of like slightly boyish names for little girls, to counteract all that pink. :0)

teeththief · 14/02/2016 14:13

Does she have a name yet OP?

If I'd had another girl she would have been Libby, Chloe, Pippa or Katy

mathanxiety · 15/02/2016 03:07

Mitzy, I managed to avoid Whoopi, but her suggestion for the next baby was Harlem, which I confess I actually entertained for a few days.

SwedeDreams · 15/02/2016 03:18

Lila?

conkerpods · 15/02/2016 08:17

We knew we were having a girl and she was still nameless for a week. These were on my list.
Clio
Bonnie
Carmen

rosieliveson1 · 15/02/2016 10:00

Op, would love to know if you've settled on anything yet. Also, YANBU if not Grin
