The most gigantic "nursery aged" children ever?Hmm

My mantra at the moment toomuch is no hitting no biting no kicking. On repeat and mine aren't twins

LadyIsabellaWrotham · 09/02/2016 19:46

BG twins can't be identical in the medical sense but there's nothing to stop them looking extremely similar, just like any other siblings. I agree that it's silly to assume they'll look more alike than run of the mill siblings.

TheLittleFoxes · 09/02/2016 19:49

I remember one episode where the wee fuckers knocked over a whole tray of special cupcakes that were intended for a party because they were messing about. The mother just said "oh, Topsy and Tim, look what you've done!" in a mildly disappointed voice. In real life, the mother would have lost her shit and dragged them to Asda to buy cheap replacements while muttering obscenities under her breath.

MamOfTwo · 09/02/2016 19:59

The ones at the moment are repeats. The last episode of this series ended with the twins' mum upduffed. I'm looking forward to the next series when that tricky third child causes her to lose her shit.

BlueMoonRising · 09/02/2016 20:02

Disappointed. I was hoping you had a disagreement with Topsy and Tim about something, based on the title.

PoohBearsHole · 09/02/2016 20:04

it's is met with squeaks of joy by dc2 and a raised eyebrow by dc1. And I expect the op is a friend on fb as she's ALWAYS making me snigger with her ability to want to kick the shit out of the mother. This is the woman that spent however long in hospital with Topsy and didn't have a hair out of place. she's a stepford wife, I tell you! with creepy stepford twins 😜

RubyChewsDay · 09/02/2016 20:05

I just envisage block out tge fact Topsy & Tims mum was shagging kissing Max Branning in Eastenders Grin

Scoopmuckdizzy · 09/02/2016 20:18

I read that there will be no more Topsy and Tim made. Just as it was starting to get good.

One of the upsides of moving to the new house was them getting their own rooms but now Mummy is having a baby they'll have to share again.

I might watch far too much Topsy and Tim. It's either that or Paw Patrol at the moment though.

The mum always looks so well put together. If there was an episode where she left her hair unbrushed or slopped around in yesterday's stained hoodie it would be far more realistic.

gincamelbak · 09/02/2016 20:32

They spent two bloody episodes trailing The Death of Mossy and they're leaving the new baby story unfinished? Well that's just a.bit shit. I was waiting on the new baby to bring episodes like:

mummy and tTony Welsh ' s mummy sit and bitch about how little their husbands do around the house despite promising to be better once the accidental new baby was born.

And

topsy and Tim hide the new baby under an armchair and make mummy try and find it.

Knottyknitter · 09/02/2016 20:46

For a fab mine of topsy and Tim AIBU, you have to read the old editions of the books from the 70s and 80s. DM got mine out of the loft for dd a few months ago. We haven't read them with her yet, but I did flick through a couple for old times sake....

The one where they go and help the weird builder and his mates dig on the building site over the road....
The one where mummy blacks them up to go to a fancy dress party...

Some books should perhaps not have been given loft space waiting for dd!

RoseDeWittBukater · 09/02/2016 21:01

Confession time... I bloody love Topsy and Tim. I spent half an hour catching up once my kids were in bed today.
It's my escapism, I like to think that's what life is like for normal people, who don't battle mental illness and SEN children. Blush

Jasonandyawegunorts · 09/02/2016 21:12

The one where mummy blacks them up to go to a fancy dress party...

"Mummy and Daddy are going to a BNP meeting today...."

champagneplanet · 09/02/2016 21:13

'so let's all play together, be best friends forever'AngryAngryAngry

elliejjtiny · 10/02/2016 00:04

Rose I know what you mean about the mental illness and SEN children. My escapism is a programme on cbbc called show me what you're made of. They take a group of spoilt preteens and get them to work in various factories. The ones that work hard get the nice jobs and the ones that don't get the horrible ones. There's something rather satisfying about watching 12 year olds uprooted from their perfect lives and made to shovel fish guts Grin.

mammmamia · 10/02/2016 00:27

Actually crying a bit at Autopsy and Tim.

"As someone who HAS twins, I can tell you on good authority that no-one is that sunny and patient and happily married having gestated two human beings simultaneously unless they are on a skinful of drugs".
Grin snorting at this as another mother of twins!
And no I don't call them "twins" and "twintastic". So incredibly twee.
And I was coming on to complain about the sexist episode with the cupcake decorating.

My twins love it though!

BillSykesDog · 10/02/2016 00:50

Did anybody see the episode of Casualty with TTs Mum in? She was a mad wife beating child abusing pyscho. It was hilarious.

Abbinob · 10/02/2016 01:13

It's how she let's off steam

ShelaghTurner · 10/02/2016 01:37

I quite like it... Blush and my two love it. It plays on a loop here!

Are there really going to be no more? I'm strangely disappointed...

Sometimesithinkimbonkers · 10/02/2016 01:49

I had the exact same thought today when the dirty little gits had nits and couldn't go to nursery!!!
Why has no one even mentioned Topsy's horrendous fringe! I mean who would do that to a child?

Discopanda · 10/02/2016 01:58

My DD1 (nearly 4) hardly ever watches it BUT goes around singing the theme tune. Except she gets the odd word wrong and I have to correct her by singing along. Then it gets stuck in my head. Be best friends foreveeeerrrrrr

Oh yeah, why do they sing it at the end when they can't sodding sing?!?!

BillSykesDog · 10/02/2016 07:30

It's how she let's off steam

I like to think so. In my head TTs Mum is living a double life with a secret family. She's under so much pressure being perfect for TT that she goes and batters the other family for chopping onions in the wrong way or wanting to go to a fancy dress party.

So when you look at it, it's all really TTs fault. Selfish little bastards.

noblegiraffe · 10/02/2016 07:41

Why the bloody hell does Tim get a normal name and Topsy is stuck with Topsy. Mum should have gone on Baby Names and been told.

GruntledOne · 10/02/2016 07:43

Dropsy and Dim in our house.

Hotpatootietimewarp · 10/02/2016 09:22

Yep they drive me demented but DD loves them, the mum is just so fake. i wonder if she has informed max branning he's to be a dad again?? Grin

DickDewy · 10/02/2016 18:01

This is making me feel ancient.

I didn't know they were on TV.

My ds is 13 and used to love Topsy and Tim books. They looked like this.
