This is doing the rounds on fb at the moment.

Seriously Hmm

OP posts:
GruntledOne · 05/02/2016 16:36

That website also states that's what a 12 week old fetus MAY look like

Naturally all 12 week old babies won't look the same but I was trying to point out to the poster who started the thread that it's not disgusting. It's not an alien, it's what they look like. They have arms and legs and features

Do you not get it, Uare, that NO 12 week foetus looks like that, because it's biologically impossible? You can go on as much as you like about foetuses developing at different rates, it doesn't change that fact.

UareWhatUeat · 05/02/2016 16:40

It's just my view, I'm not saying people must not have abortions. I'm not going to give my career and go campaign outside an abortion clinic.

lots of smokers have no interest in seeing pictures of what lung cancer really looks like

I'm not going to campaign against people smoking either. Everyone can do what they want I'm aware that my view won't stop them.

Naturally people who have had abortions won't want to see what it looks like. I asked them not to look.

I've just pointed out what babies do look like to show that it's not disgusting like was said at the very start and it's not an alien

It looks similar to how some babies look at that stage

UareWhatUeat · 05/02/2016 16:42

Not many people pretend to be raped though do they. Some do but it's not the norm.

Infact most people don't even report tape as they don't think they have enough evidence and they just want to put it behind them.

I find that a bit silly

ToastDemon · 05/02/2016 16:44

So then how does that bring us to implementing what you've described, access to abortion for rape only?
You're avoiding answering the question. How would it work in practice?

Oh, I looked at your link with the foetuses. It would not put me off having an abortion, should I require one. Don't make assumptions that every person's reaction is going to be the same.

UareWhatUeat · 05/02/2016 16:44

Insults and swearing! Yawn. Really is there any need?

Dawndonnaagain · 05/02/2016 16:44

That's funny Uare, I'm a lecturer and very definitely not common. Not that I give a flying fuck. However, I'd strongly suggest you read some articles on swearing and vocabulary use.
As for being insulting, having read your comments about being genuinely raped and people who have abortions are just people I think you need to look a little closer to home. Your views and statements of said views are abhorrent.

ToastDemon · 05/02/2016 16:45

I agree it's a bit silly, btw, but you were the one who said you thought abortion should only be carried out in cases where women were raped.

UareWhatUeat · 05/02/2016 16:47

So you swear in front of your students? Hmmm I think not

Aren't we all trying to set a good example for our children and teach them that is possible to get a point across with facts, instead of resorting to insults and swearing

Dawndonnaagain · 05/02/2016 16:48

Interestingly, you haven't tackled the issue of reverse searching images. You noticed the swearing and nothing else. How convenient.

UareWhatUeat · 05/02/2016 16:52

I said in cases of rape and for medical reasons actually

Anti abortionists are usually against all abortion. We all have different views

Photos of lung cancer are also upsetting to look and smokers don't want to look at them, but that doesn't mean it's not what lung cancer realistically looks like

If I was religious would people be insulting my religious views as well?

Chill out people

ToastDemon · 05/02/2016 16:54

Yes I know you said that Uare. And obviously for medical reasons it's easy enough to determine. Which is why I was focusing on rape and how that would be implemented.
But you're not clarifying that for me.

UareWhatUeat · 05/02/2016 16:59

Because the babies bodies get ripped apart in the case of suction abortion so I don't think many would ask to look at that. Maybe someone who has asked to look at their aborted baby will come along and correct me

Abortion clinics all have scanning equipment and could easily start offering 4d scans to show people exactly what the baby looks like before the abortion

But they don't because that's ridiculous and because no one wants to see

I thought I had addressed it by pointing out they mostly wrapped in blankets and beside personal items in the miscarried pics.

Not in a hospital bed as the pics of aborted babies were!

UareWhatUeat · 05/02/2016 17:00

I don't believe many sane people pretend to be raped so it's not an issue

For one it's a lengthy court process and two; They would get charged for wasting police time and have their picture in the papers and a criminal record

UareWhatUeat · 05/02/2016 17:02

Does anyone want to have a 4d scan of their baby before having it aborted?

I'd be interested to know the reasons why if you do!

Highsteaks · 05/02/2016 17:02

And having an unnecessary abortion is doing what exactly.? Being sensitive to an unborn babies needs?

Define 'uneccessary abortion' exactly.

You are rambling on about nothing, and repeating your same ridiculous points over and over. Despite your 'foetuses develop at different rates so some 12 week ones might look like the one in the OP' bollocks, people have said over and over that a 12 week foetuses categorically CANNOT look like that.

bigbuttons · 05/02/2016 17:09

As I have always understood it growth/dating scans at 12 weeks are offered because a foetus of 10 weeks gestation is always going to look the same basically and have very specific arm/ leg/ head/a do dimensions. It is only after that time hat growth differences occur. Or have I got it wrong?

Oswin · 05/02/2016 17:14

You keep saying your just sharing facts but your fucking not.

You have linked to pictures from a anti choice website.
You have provided nothing near a fact.

Dawndonnaagain · 05/02/2016 17:25

Aren't we all trying to set a good example for our children and teach them that is possible to get a point across with facts, instead of resorting to insults and swearing
No, I taught mine that they can swear should they choose too. And yes, I swear in lectures.

Dawndonnaagain · 05/02/2016 17:27

Oh, and still no comment on the pictures...

ghostyslovesheep · 05/02/2016 17:31

so foetus's stop having value if they are conceived via rape of are defective (disabled) in some way? Otherwise the wishes of the human being carrying them should be totally ignored Hmm

Doublebubblebubble · 05/02/2016 17:31

Having had stillborn twins at 24+6 I can tell you now the picture above IS COMPLETELY FAKE - hope no one sees it and is fooled into keeping a pregnancy that they don't want.

Elendon · 05/02/2016 17:33

For my first pregnancy which ended at 12 weeks gestation, for medical reasons, I had a scan at six weeks. Heartbeat healthy. I didn't need a picture. I'll always remember that moment.
