Honestly, I have to stop wearing my judgeypants but they're so comfortable

My friend has posted his tea on facebook. It's cottage pie.

Yum!, I hear you cry.

NO. It's mince, mash, THEN A PASTRY LID.

WHHHHHHHHHHYYYYY???

I'm all for double carbing, but really. REALLY.

It's an abomination. (Mind you, I get a little huffy when cottage and shepherds is used interchangeably for pies)

I don't like pies with pastry; so I would state that 'I don't actually like pies'. Though I do like shepard's pie, cottage pie and cheese and potato pie.

So do I actually like pies?

It's very befuddling already without adding the upheaval of cottage pie with pastry.

Somehow this has got me thinking of chip butties. Nice fresh bread rolls, portion of chips from the chippy. Slice open the rolls and make a sandwich by putting the chips inside. Substitute a packet of crisps fror the chips and make a crisp butty instead.

Fish finger butties are brilliant. Fry three or four fish fingers. Place them inside a fresh bread roll covered in a dollop of tartar sauce. Yummmmmm.
