AIBU to not breastfeed?

Stephieee · 29/01/2016 22:40

DD is yet to arrive, but I never breastfed with DS and my goodness, I was made to feel terrible about it! I've told people that I'm not going to, this time around, but their views haven't changed :(

OP posts:

The OPs opening thread was not goady at all. She has been polite and respectful throughout. Im wondering what has made MNHQ come to the conclusion this thread was started to be goady. I see nothing here to suggest that. Hoping the OP comes back to defend herself as this could be seen as deformation of character. Based on the usual assumptions on here. Lets see!

Sparklingbrook · 31/01/2016 10:01

You can't let the GFs win. They got their wish.

TheCatsMeow · 31/01/2016 10:01

How can you tell if someone's being goady? I've been accused of it when I haven't been I've just disagreed with a lot if people!

Sparklingbrook · 31/01/2016 10:02

An AIBU about possibly not BF is always going to be aimed at getting everyone wound up. Posted in the right topic it would have been a different thread.

OhShutUpThomas · 31/01/2016 10:03

But it's not like it's fresh and interesting views Cats, and there are a hundred other places to read them.

There are too many GF on here at the moment. Personally I think that all Goady threads should be removed and all the Fuckers banned.
They might stop then.

Writerwannabe83 · 31/01/2016 10:03

I think the fact that the OP has barely shown her face since she started the thread only strengthens the fact it was intended to be goady...

This thread is offending and upsetting both FF'ers and BF'ers so it really doesn't need to stay.

BumWad · 31/01/2016 10:03

Haven't read thread.
I think mothers should atleast try to breastfeed. If you can't and it doesn't work fine. But why would you not want to try something that is the best for your child?

Yes formula is not poison. But you may surprise yourself with breastfeeding.

OhShutUpThomas · 31/01/2016 10:03

MNHQ will have likely come to that conclusion based on the OPs other posts, threads, and name changes.

Sparklingbrook · 31/01/2016 10:05

BumWad you might want to read the thread.

TheCatsMeow · 31/01/2016 10:05

Thomas fair enough, I just find live debates more interesting than reading a closed thread. I did learn something as well I didn't know the lifetime breast cancer chance was 1 in 8!

FlatOnTheHill · 31/01/2016 10:06

Why are people assuming the OP was being goady. So what if she posted in AIBU. The ff v bf is always going to turn into a big debate. No wonder the OP has not come back. Dont accuse someone of being goady when they have been more than polite and none of us know her. Its really unfair.

OhShutUpThomas · 31/01/2016 10:09

Flat - MNHQ, the ones who can see exactly what the OP posts everywhere, under name changes etc, have stated that they believe it was goady.

They don't do that unless they can be fairly sure.

OhShutUpThomas · 31/01/2016 10:10

We did check the OP out behind the scenes, and we do have concerns the thread was started to goad.

There you are, as you seem to have missed it.

Sparklingbrook · 31/01/2016 10:11

MNHQ will know what's what. Nobody will ever search for this thread in AIBU anyway. Once it 'dies' that will be that.

FlatOnTheHill · 31/01/2016 10:19

I think its come to an end now to be honest.

OhShutUpThomas · 31/01/2016 10:22

It should still go.

DisappointedOne · 31/01/2016 11:11

no man out of feeding or expressing ever resulted in a full meal fir dd1. and as for dd2, well I'm. not sure I even had any milk.

Same happened to my best friend. It broke her heart. I believe this happens to around 2% of women. I wasn't meaning them in my "anti-BF" statement.

TheCatsMeow · 31/01/2016 11:16

Disappointed that's like saying what would women who have epidurals do without them.

They'd give birth, some with complications some without but it would be an unpleasant experience for them. Same with bf for people who don't want to bf

DisappointedOne · 31/01/2016 12:54

Does anyone decide they're definitely having an epidural during pregnancy? Is anyone anti-natural labour in the same way that there are people that are so anti-BF?

MrsJayy · 31/01/2016 13:02

Who said you will be a shit mum ? You have 1 child already you know formula isn't poison and you have a healthy thriving child what they say does not matter. I tried to bf dc1 didn't bother with dc2 who was prem and hooked up to machines I have no regrets

PufflesMC · 31/01/2016 13:02

I dislike epidurals, hate them and would never pick it! Only people I don't like the needle going in my back - I had no choice with my twins (C-section), but I didn't with DS1

PufflesMC · 31/01/2016 13:03

Oh, also, DS1 was breastfed and was diagnosed with AML, so it doesn't do much and I'm FF my twins.

MrsJayy · 31/01/2016 13:03

Urgh goady fecker

TheCatsMeow · 31/01/2016 13:04

Disappointed yes loads of people! There was no way I'd have had a natural labour
