Why do some women have more children

Why in some families do women feel the need to have 4plus kids whereas others are happy with 1 or 2 or sometimes none at all?

I know everyone is different but I know there's a biological response to proceeate.

I've had 2 horrendous births, ds1 has asd and is 3.3, very 'challenging' and still co-sleeps. DS2 is 16mo and co-sleeps too and has never slept longer than 3 hrs in his life. They both eat different meals from each other and us. Yet we are trying for another. I am clearly so sleep deprived this seems like a good idea.

I only have one because I can't have any more.

Why do you want people to justify themselves to you?

It's none of your business why people choose to have any number of children. Or none for that matter.

Neither should they have to explain to you or anyone about the circumstances that caused them to have the size of family they ended up with.
Especially if you consider health issues, miscarriages and bereavement.

It's annoying, frustrating and boring enough to be questioned by utter strangers time and time again in RL and being expected to explain and/or justify why we have 7 children, so I will not indulge you with my answer on an internet forum.

Go and do something more productive with your life instead of being a nosy nuisance.
