To think these two girls should get a slap..

for putting super glue onto the seat of a DISABLED toilet??!

Read the story earlier, apparently the two teens are aged 16-18, and some poor 4yo girl went in after them and had the skin ripped from the back of her legs!
No doubt these two little twats will get a lecture and a wrist slap.

OP posts:
lorelei9 · 04/01/2016 23:22

SoupDragon "I would hope that snyone who actually punched someone for doing this would be prosecuted for assault."

would you want the people who did the gluing to be prosecuted for anything?

Kittypawpuff · 04/01/2016 23:29

I do hope they get jail, its a horrible thing to do.

ReallyTired · 04/01/2016 23:39

Those girls deserve jail. Imagine if a newborn or child with special needs had been placed on the baby mat. They couldn't give a shit who their victim was. At sixteen they are more than old enough to be criminally responsible for their actions.

lorelei9 · 04/01/2016 23:42

REally - or indeed, as I presume was the intention, if a disabled person had been there for a while, unable to move and with no one with them to alert staff for help.

knobblyknee · 04/01/2016 23:46

Disabled toilets are to offer disabled access, not for the exclusive use of the disabled.
If theres a massive queue at the laides and and you or your 4 yo needs the loo, then use the damn disabled toilet, and yes I'm bloody disabled.

Theres no evidence they'll just get a slap so lets not jump to conclusions. A witch hunt with pitchforks and torches to a shit sentence is much more fun anyway.

Sheesh.

ohtheholidays · 04/01/2016 23:47

I honestly hope they are locked away for the rest of they're lifes.I don't believe rehabilitation ever works for people like that.

nippiesweetie · 04/01/2016 23:47

I was in a cafe the other week that had only a disabled toilet - ie it was for all customers.

lorelei9 · 04/01/2016 23:50

not sure if the last couple of comments were directed at me - just to be clear, I wasn't questioning who used the bathroom - just pointing out that them doing this to a disabled toilet means a high risk of that happening to a disabled person. Sadly I've seen a lot of abuse directed at disabled people so the likelihood of it being a hate crime directed at disabled people - those women might not have known that the bathroom was regularly used by many non-disabled people - seems high.

Friendofsadgirl · 04/01/2016 23:52

The two girls will be identifiable from CCTV hopefully.
WRT the discussion on the child using a disabled toilet, the mums Facebook post read:
"To the two young blonde girls that thought it would be so hilarious to put super glue on the disabled and baby changing toilet in McDonalds, I just want you to know that I’m still having to console my four-year-old daughter who was unfortunate enough to use the toilet after your little prank."

ilovesooty · 04/01/2016 23:52

It was a horrible thing to do but I honestly don't think it's comparable with the sort of multiple murders that are punished by whole life tariffs.

sleeponeday · 04/01/2016 23:59

That poor little girl.

Thank the Lord for CCTV. I hope they are caught, and I hope they have previous, so they get a sentence commensurate with the pain caused. Nasty little madams.

ReallyTired · 05/01/2016 00:03

It must have been frightening for the little girl. I agree it's s disablity hate crime, even if the victim is not disabled.

I don't think the girls should be jailed for life. I feel a short jail sentence of a few weeks in a jurvenile detention unit is enough. Adults who commit more serious offences don't get life tariffs.

These girls and their parents should be made to sob.

Dawndonnaagain · 05/01/2016 00:06

Ffs. An accessible toilet does not mean it's accessible to all, it means it's accessible to those with disabilities.

As for radar keys,
I spent a long time in the seventies and eighties discouraging local authorities from using them, in part because it was yet another hurdle and yet another signifier. For years the majority respected the rights of those whose need was greater, but now, I'm sad to say that I think we need to go back to using the bastarding things.

Mmmmcake123 · 05/01/2016 00:14

They deserve a criminal record, full on intent, not a prank. Even if the superglue was something they didn't specifically go out of their way to buy (false nail glue???), it's horrific, same as the injuries to the lady on the escalator in the other case mentioned.
That woman will have lost so much confidence, presumably life changing, and it's being described by police (according to the press) as a prank gone wrong.
YouTube videos.......

ReallyTired · 05/01/2016 00:15

I don't think that this thread is the time to discuss who should be allowed to use a disabled loo. Pregnant women with SPD or someone with a broken leg may have a good case for using an accessible loo even if they don't count as disabled.

Maybe it's a good thing that the girl's victim did not have special needs. It would have been so much worse.

FloraFurball · 05/01/2016 00:19

I have family in Exeter and one of them has shared a FB post naming the girls with their photos. The post has loads of likes and shares so if it is them I doubt they are finding it quite so funny now. No doubt the police will be following it up.

Mmmmcake123 · 05/01/2016 00:19

A pp mentioned they know the toilet in question and although it's accessible to the disabled is widely used. I really hope the stupidity of the two f imbeciles wasn't specifically to target someone with a disability, but they also smeared the baby changing unit, so wtf!!!!!

Mmmmcake123 · 05/01/2016 00:21

Good to hear Flora, not heard anything re the lady on the escalator perps

ReallyTired · 05/01/2016 00:23

I fear that Facebook could undermine any court trial.

It seems they are not the only stupid teens.

I hope it's still possible to make an example out of these girls.

Idliketoteachtheworldtosing1 · 05/01/2016 01:00

Omg what vile people, they should definitely be charged with abh surely! What would possess anyone to do that is beyond me, especially in the disabled toilets where the users are probably going to struggle anyway, I hope that they get what they deserve the vile women and I hope that poor little girl isn't too traumatised!

FloraFurball · 05/01/2016 01:10

The FB post has now been posted on by the little girl's DM stating that the police have confirmed both girls have been identified and brought in for questioning. Their parents are apparently 'livid' with their DD's!

zippey · 05/01/2016 02:13

YANBU

I'd want to give them a bit more than a slap though.

FishEye · 05/01/2016 02:23

They deserve to have the shit kicked out of them. Fuck all this left wing liberal "violence doesn't solve anything" bullshit. A good battering never did me any harm, and went a long way to teaching me right from wrong.

SaggingTits · 05/01/2016 02:34

^ yes. If I was the parent of either of those girls I'd give them a fucking hiding myself.

UsernameIncorrect · 05/01/2016 02:36

Exactly Fisheye, when will people realise that if they assault people it will stop them assaulting others. Dimwits.
