To think these two girls should get a slap..

for putting super glue onto the seat of a DISABLED toilet??!

Read the story earlier, apparently the two teens are aged 16-18, and some poor 4yo girl went in after them and had the skin ripped from the back of her legs!
No doubt these two little twats will get a lecture and a wrist slap.

I apologise if anyone thought I was victim blaming. It wasn't the intention. It was a horrible act and of course I wouldn't have implied that the victim deserved it in any way. I was just wondering if there could have been any way if giving the perpetrators less opportunity.
I agree that it's a horrible act whatever toilet it happened in.

SarcasticAndRabidAngryHarpy · 04/01/2016 22:15

A lot of disabled toilets double as baby change/other and this might not be reported. I'll be using the disabled toilets from time to time in the next few months, although I have no disability at all.

(will be needing privacy/changing room/blood washing facilities, is that OK with everyone?)

That poor child. I hope they get a good GBH type prosecution on those idiots. Or can we send them to those practical judges who would sentence them to something involving superglue (and glue up someone's goady fingers on here while we're at it)

SarcasticAndRabidAngryHarpy · 04/01/2016 22:15

Xpost then sooty Wink

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 04/01/2016 22:15

I've been to this McDonald's several times and used the toilet so perhaps I can help clear some stuff regarding it.

It's not the only toilet, but it's the only toilet on the ground floor.

The staff have a key and unlock it for you upon asking, but on busy times I've seen people grab the handle and slink in as someone leaves.

Staff encouraged me to use it with my DS when he was around 3 or 4 after asking where the toilets were, it is a baby-changing facility as well so I assume staff might err on the side of caution and offer it to those with small children who may still need help with things.

dementedma · 04/01/2016 22:16

I would glue the two perpetrators together and let them peel themselves apart...

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 04/01/2016 22:17

Well done Sooty. It takes guts to apologize, even anonymously on an internet forum

ClosedAuraOpenMind · 04/01/2016 22:17

Jenj I agree what these 2 teens did is utterly appalling behaviour, which I hope they are held to account for

but as someone with mental health problems I find your description of the perpetrators as "a bit mental in the head obviously" pretty offensive

Leelu6 · 04/01/2016 22:18

Ilovesooty, stop back tracking, you know what you meant. You only thought up 'radar key' later. She's four, FFS.

Witchend · 04/01/2016 22:19

At our local McDs the disabled toilet is the only one downstairs, so if upstairs is shut, you have to ask for the key.
I usually put it to then as "is upstairs open, as we need to use the toilet" about half the time they go and get the key for downstairs.

ilovesooty · 04/01/2016 22:19

Saga thanks. It seems that these girls must have sneaked in then so there's nothing that could have been done to make access more secure.

I hope they find them quickly and punish them severely.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 04/01/2016 22:21

It must have happened not long before the girl went in. Superglue dries quite quickly.

ilovesooty · 04/01/2016 22:21

Thanks ilive

Leelu please yourself.

SarcasticAndRabidAngryHarpy · 04/01/2016 22:22

I have a radar key, my reasons are my own, but I do not have a disability or a bowel issue.

You can buy them on the internet (though I didn't)

I tend to use it more for opening the doors for other people who are loitering waiting for a member of staff to arrive with theirs. Loads of places (restaurants with children's menus) have baby-change in a radar locked toilet. Occasionally I use it for myself, most of the time I just queue with everyone else.

Jenj1983 · 04/01/2016 22:23

Closed an 18 yo going around gluing things couldn't really be described as much else though could they?
Sorry if your a bit sensitive

Poor little girl she must have been so scared- how can people be so bloody cruel!

lorelei9 · 04/01/2016 22:24

OP, I think you're quite restrained

I'm not normally a violent person but this deserves a few punches

should be treated as a hate crime and possibly also assault - they knew they would cause someone serious damage doing that.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 04/01/2016 22:25

I suffering from MH issues myself can see where Closed is coming from. They're evil. I don't know about mental.

ilovesooty · 04/01/2016 22:25

I'd certainly agree that it's assault. To call it a prank diminishes it

SuckingEggs · 04/01/2016 22:27

FFS. Only on MN could this become a debate about toilet etiquette!

The fuckers should be banged up.

whirlybird42 · 04/01/2016 22:28

That is just fucking hideous. Angry

TheSecondViola · 04/01/2016 22:29

I'm not normally a violent person but this deserves a few punches

Yup, because punching teenagers is absolutely the right way to teach them that hurting others is bad Hmm

Theworldmakesnosense · 04/01/2016 22:33

If that little girl was mine God help the little bastards. Truly shocking and they deserve far more than a slap

Walkingintheraindrops · 04/01/2016 22:35

It doesn't sound that serious to be honest. I thought it was unlikely superglue "ripped the skin off her legs"- you dramatic lot.
But what a weird thing to do.

I use the radar keys all the time since having baby typically the baby change is there too. You just ask and get, there is no vetting process (as is right)

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 04/01/2016 22:38

Not serious Walking. A child was in agony while her skin was ripped off and you don't think it's serious. Hmm

manicinsomniac · 04/01/2016 22:38

Terrible.

When I heard the story I assumed that the two perpetrators were disabled and were making some kind of protest against the frequent use of the toilet by others.

But, as nasty as that would be, sounds like it's even worse. They should be jailed.
