I'll never forget on an old episode of KUWTK where Kendal who was about 16 atbthe time went to tell her mum that she had finally decided that she might like to try modelling. kris was over the moon and arranged for Kim to take Kendal to NY to some sort of model school week where she would learn to cat walk walk and have photo shoots, meet some people, etc.

When Kylie heard she went running to Kris and said she had also now decided she wanted to model and Kris just totally dismissed the idea. Kylie looked crushed.

Fair enough Tali, when you said researching I thought you meant you had 'official' figures or something. I had a traumatic VB with DD and ELCS with DS, which turned out to be far more traumatic than I could ever have imagined, both during and after. I deeply regretted not going for another VB. We've all had such different experiences haven't we.

TaliZorah · 03/01/2016 09:45

Wilbur I researched the risks figures, then asked as many people as I could, then worked out exactly what scared me about VB, asked why it scared me and why an ELCS would help, worked out what scared me about surgery and if that scared me more than a VB, and what were the actual risks in terms of each fear meaning some fears were more rational, and it took me weeks. I'd always said I wanted an ELCS for my kids but when it came to it it wasn't an easy decision.

Sorry your births were traumatic. Mine was too but not physically, it was that DS was very ill and I nearly lost him (most likely would have if I'd had a VB so I'm very glad I chose not to). But the actual surgery was fine.

It is strange, I wonder what makes different bodies respond differently to the same event!

ilovesooty · 03/01/2016 09:49

Tali you effectively counselled yourself. I can see why you didn't feel you needed counselling having done that.

I still feel cosmetic surgery is different though.

WilburIsSomePig · 03/01/2016 09:53

Yep it is Tali, one of my closest friends had a VB at home that she described as a 'bit stinging'!!! and was out walking past my house with her new baby after about 3 hours!

TaliZorah · 03/01/2016 09:53

Sooty I think I was forgetting that I've had CBT for years thanks to having depression related issues, so I'm pretty good at addressing my own fears and weighing it up, whereas others might not be used to doing that

I do think you're right as many people probably wouldn't do that

ilovesooty · 03/01/2016 10:11

I think you're right Tali

Years of experience with CBT will have given you skills in that area which other patients may not have.

ilovesooty · 03/01/2016 10:13

Mind you the other thing years of therapy gives you is an awareness of when you do need a helping hand from others again. It's what I've found anyway. Smile

Sallyingforth · 03/01/2016 10:21

Ten pages of comments about pointless celebs.

WhatamessIgotinto · 03/01/2016 10:33

Big deal Sally. I'm sure the thread title gave you a clue that it wasn't discussing politics.

areyoubeingserviced · 03/01/2016 11:42

Sally- why bother clicking on the thread then?

iamlionesshearmeroar · 03/01/2016 11:57

What's to discuss though? It's all rather vacuous...

'I think Kylie is the prettiest'
'No, it's Kendall'
'No, Kylie...'

repeat for 10 pages.

TaliZorah · 03/01/2016 11:59

Sooty it does, it's really helpful as you understand much more. At the time I thought it was pointless it's only now that I find myself doing things naturally that I realised how helpful it's been

areyoubeingserviced · 03/01/2016 12:00

It may be vacuous
However, the fact that there ten pages suggests that people are interested.

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 03/01/2016 12:08

I feel sorry for her, I think all this plastic surgery was rushed into because she feels she needs to look like Kim. Even in earlier Kardashian episodes when she's very young age pretends to be her. In ten years she'll look horrific and be regularly featured in 'plastic surgery disasters' stories in the tabloids and magazines she's so desperate to be in. And there's no going back from it.

Kendall seems the least untouched by surgery, as well as being the most beautiful and coming across to me at least as the happiest. It must have been hard for Kylie to see all this success and adoration for her closest sibling, and be told that she wasn't good enough.

It's her parents fault. They would have had to consent to this surgery and who in their right mind would allow this to happen to a 16/17 year olds face??

WhatamessIgotinto · 03/01/2016 12:27

What's to discuss though? It's all rather vacuous...

You're right of course. It's all terribly vacuous and you are of far superior intelligence than anyone else on this thread. There you go. Well done.

OriginalSinner · 03/01/2016 12:39

I have a couple of questions:

What happened to the brainy lawyer genetic input in the Kardashian branch?

And in another piece of trivia it turns out David Cameron is related to the clan. Are they all lizards?

areyoubeingserviced · 03/01/2016 12:43

Original- I thought that they had a university degree.

OriginalSinner · 03/01/2016 12:52

There's an obvious joke there waiting to be delivered about them sharing it around between them..Shock

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 03/01/2016 12:53

Isn't Kourtney the only one with a degree?

OriginalSinner · 03/01/2016 12:57

Kourtney seems sharp but (having seen a few clips in between reading Tolstoy) her partner was a complete wash out.

Whoknewitcouldbeso · 03/01/2016 13:01

You don't have to be academic to be smart. They have earnt an awful lot of money being very very savvy with their brand so I imagine that's where the genetics have played a part.

areyoubeingserviced · 03/01/2016 13:05

Original- ha ha Tolstoy.

redcarrot1 · 03/01/2016 15:23

They're starting to look like variations of Michael Jackson.

Karanka · 03/01/2016 15:31

This thread seems to be the MN equivalent of 'who is your favourite Ninja Turtle?'
