AIBU to get some wine back from this woman I know

A fellow mum has been offering lifts to my DD.

She is normally very nice, classy, and pleasant.

I don't think she uses this site.

I dropped by with a bottle of Prosecco for her as a thank you (the crate from which it came was destined for my husbands bosses's Xmas party).

I had taken the bottle out of the crate and was ready to present that to her.

She lurched up to the door, reeking of booze, yelled "gissa that my luverly PARTY TIME YEAH BABY"

She then patted her husbands arse, pulled the whole crate from my arms and ran/staggered off with a wink.

Should I ask for it back or should I just let it go?

Are you sure she's not a mumsnetter?

PinkSquash · 02/01/2016 02:06

YANBU. It's probably all gone now sadly, I'd chalk this one up to experience and make alternative lift arrangements Wink

Epilepsyhelp · 02/01/2016 02:08

You hadn't taken the bottle out of the crate though had you OP.. Don't lie now..

WanderingNotLost · 02/01/2016 02:09

Honestly, some people just have no shame

I can just picture her now, surrounded by the empty bottles she's already caned and drinking out of the last one with a straw.

I guess it was inevitable that someone would start this thread!

Why would you turn up on her doorstep with a crate intending to just give her one bottle Confused
That's pretty rude... Oh I just dropped by with my crate of prosseco aren't I great, here have one... WTF? Just bring one bottle round.
Who has their Christmas party in January anyway?

IHaveBrilloHair · 02/01/2016 02:15

She's probably a narcissisit, alcoholic bitch, who wears Boden tunics, leave the bitch immediately.

AmIthatautumnal · 02/01/2016 02:17

What?

Is this a terribly clever post that I'm not getting?

Headmelt · 02/01/2016 02:19

What movie was this from op? I doubt this happened at all

bearleftmonkeyright · 02/01/2016 02:20

I'm not sure I get it either, but the wine stealing lady sounds fun. I would've ditched the bosses party and stopped at her house.

Gruntfuttock · 02/01/2016 02:20

Vedamakesthebesttoast why do you think this has just happened? I think it could well have happened on Xmas Eve.

Headmelt · 02/01/2016 02:20

Thanks Broken

DeckTheWallsWithLotsOfMolly · 02/01/2016 02:20

This is not true, you gave me the whole crate. And I never offered your DD a lift, the cheeky minx just got in one day.

CadleCrap · 02/01/2016 02:22

Did you have a little tussle over it?

Vedamakesthebesttoast · 02/01/2016 02:25

Ah thanks broken, just wandered in from being woken by a teething baby and mised the thread it was about. I want to know what the story was now!

YABVU, we all know what really happened. Would you offer someone a sweet, then take one out the bag and take the bag away?

Cheapskate.

HemanOrSheRa · 02/01/2016 02:48

Honestly, OP was there a slight tussle over the crate? You should have tried harder to wrestle it from her clutches. Serves you right.
