AIBU to get some wine back from this woman I know

A fellow mum has been offering lifts to my DD.

She is normally very nice, classy, and pleasant.

I don't think she uses this site.

I dropped by with a bottle of Prosecco for her as a thank you (the crate from which it came was destined for my husbands bosses's Xmas party).

I had taken the bottle out of the crate and was ready to present that to her.

She lurched up to the door, reeking of booze, yelled "gissa that my luverly PARTY TIME YEAH BABY"

She then patted her husbands arse, pulled the whole crate from my arms and ran/staggered off with a wink.

Should I ask for it back or should I just let it go?

Who on earth considers a bottle of wine? You must always give a case, unless it is fizz, then you can give a 1/2 case.

itsatrap · 02/01/2016 13:34

Haha ha. Op maybe you should call 101 and get this logged - she has technically stolen from you Grin

AlpacaLypse · 02/01/2016 13:42

Wine and Grin

HelsBels3000 · 02/01/2016 13:48

I'd like a more detailed description of the tussle please Grin

peppielillyan · 02/01/2016 13:58

omg.... i remember reading the other lady's thread last night....

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 02/01/2016 13:59

So - why did you carry the entire box into the house with you if you only meant to give her one bottle? I mean, are you in training for Britain's Strongest Woman or something - who does that? It's like showing someone the biggest doll in the shop and then saying "but THAT one's not for you, you get this 6" high thing instead".

OP, you were rude to have taken the whole crate in with you, I do hope you realise that. You've let yourself down, you've let your husband down, and worse than that, you've let M&S down too.

DinoSnores · 02/01/2016 14:15

You could have just said, "No".

No is a complete sentence, you know!

Xmas Grin
0phelia · 02/01/2016 14:24

Call 101. She's almost certainly a drunk driver too. You can never be sure you will actually be safe in this woman's car now!
Go NC.

SauvignonBlanche · 02/01/2016 14:25

She sounds like a bit of a lush, I trust you won't be allowing your DD to have lifts from her in future? Xmas Hmm

catfordbetty · 02/01/2016 14:27

and worse than that, you've let M&S down too

Shocking. I think you should ask her if she meant to be so rude.

TenTinyTadpoles · 02/01/2016 14:52

I'm sure that her husband will have pointed out the error of her ways. Chalk to up to experience OP, I'm sure that her mistake will be pointed out by masses of people on MN if she start a thread about it.

Brightnorthernlights · 02/01/2016 14:54

Go NC and LTB.

SfaOkaySuperFurryAnimals · 02/01/2016 15:05

ha ha, yes, V.good
see what you did there.....:)

LiverandChianti · 02/01/2016 15:36

Have you called the non-emergency police number so they can log it? It's better safe than sorry!

Gruntfuttock · 02/01/2016 15:46

Liverand Chianti Good point! The OP may not be the only victim.

DinoSnores · 02/01/2016 15:58

0phelia, I can't believe you've suggested 101. How irresponsible.

Surely 999 is the only reasonable course of action here.

Pipbin · 02/01/2016 16:04

So - why did you carry the entire box into the house with you if you only meant to give her one bottle?

Stop victim blaming!!

Awks · 02/01/2016 16:11

What if she drank the whole lot in one night? You're nothing but an enabler - do you have problems with alcohol yourself, OP?

RufusTheReindeer · 02/01/2016 16:55
