Do not think smearing a soiled nappy on a car is a good idea, or mixing cat poo with milk and pouring it into airvents to get rid of problem parkers, etc etc. It's all gone a bit bizarre round here, and I used to read mn for sane, diverse, funny, wise intelligent opinion. Now my eyes bulge at the majority of posts / advice - people are aggressive and humourless far more often than wise, funny or kind. I'm hoping responses to this thread won't attract too many of those...

Has penis beaker ruined it for us long term posters?

If anyone can direct me to where all the old posters have gone I'd love to know Grin

Aww, Pag I am so glad you are still here.

WorraLiberty · 29/12/2015 15:00

What about if MNHQ did this....

Start a new 'General Chat' topic, where name changing is not allowed? So to post in that section, you choose a different name (much like in Mumsnet local). But you have to stick to that name only.

That way, in that section at least, there would be less arses/goady fuckers/Billy bullshitters and drama llamas, hiding behind name changes.

People will become 'regulars' again (in that section at least) and when you go there to chat, you'll at least 'recognise' other people.

OK I'm sure there are 1 million reasons why this is a stupid idea/impossible to set up, but can anyone think of them? Grin

Hullygully · 29/12/2015 15:02

Brilliant worra

Queenbean · 29/12/2015 15:02

Worra that's a great idea. Can we also make it so that people have to be registered for 3/6 months first before they have access to that board?

Caprinihahahaha · 29/12/2015 15:02

Yup Maryz - it's unusual to see an apology.

Equally, I apologised when I hadn't understood the ops rather confusing thread but she just ignored that and did a load of 'I feel sorry for your children' retorts.
Arsehole.

I'm not witty or intelligent, & I don't really like to think very hard, so the new mumsnet is great for me.
But MN is still very twee compared to most of the Internet.

Caprinihahahaha · 29/12/2015 15:04

Nah but def exotic Hully. Obvs.

Sparklingbrook · 29/12/2015 15:04

I like that idea Worra.

WorraLiberty · 29/12/2015 15:04

Yeah that might be a good idea Queenbean, to stop PBPs turning up with pitch forks Grin

Caprinihahahaha · 29/12/2015 15:05

Love that Worra.

Name changing is obviously popular for good reasons but it is a licence to twattery.

FreezePeach · 29/12/2015 15:06

Worra Could work.
While I know a lot of NC is for nefarious purposes, for me it's because I worry about google.
I would feel very much happier if pretty much everything on here was deleted after a reasonable time.

The emojis have mucked up any semblance of 'clean' on MN. Brought in by stealth, we were asked what we thought. Most said no. They are thinking about it over Christmas apparently. They will stay obviously.

Hullygully · 29/12/2015 15:08

then they could go back on to the general boards mary, like anyone that doesn't like any topic...

Also, if anyone posts there with the sole intention of having a pop at the regs, HQ can just ban them from that topic.
