Do not think smearing a soiled nappy on a car is a good idea, or mixing cat poo with milk and pouring it into airvents to get rid of problem parkers, etc etc. It's all gone a bit bizarre round here, and I used to read mn for sane, diverse, funny, wise intelligent opinion. Now my eyes bulge at the majority of posts / advice - people are aggressive and humourless far more often than wise, funny or kind. I'm hoping responses to this thread won't attract too many of those...

Has penis beaker ruined it for us long term posters?

If anyone can direct me to where all the old posters have gone I'd love to know Grin

Caprinihahahaha · 29/12/2015 15:14

I opened a caprinihahahahahahahaha bar this morning Maryz!

But the time difference is a bugger. I'm off to bed in a minute and few people wanted cocktails when I woke up.

WorraLiberty · 29/12/2015 15:14

Someone posted last night that they thought SM might be in prison

That really made me laugh Grin

WorraLiberty · 29/12/2015 15:15

Yeah I'll go start a thread in Site Stuff then.

Sparklingbrook · 29/12/2015 15:16

For repetitive posting crimes probably Worra. Grin

Typing in some sort of batshit accent should actually be a crime. Hen

Sparklingbrook · 29/12/2015 15:26
  1. That was 8 years before I found MN. I had a 1 year old and a 4 year old and their names I didn't check 'went' with each other. Shock
Fent0n · 29/12/2015 15:27

I've just been sitting here thinking '2003, what was I doing in 2003?'

and realised why I couldn't remember much.

It was just before I had children.

Fent0n · 29/12/2015 15:29

Miss-matching names Sparkling? Shock and they still let you in?

catfordbetty · 29/12/2015 15:34

People will become 'regulars' again (in that section at least) and when you go there to chat, you'll at least 'recognise' other people.

Isn't that what's happening on this thread here, now? Regulars who recognise each other, chatting? (Not complaining, btw.)

Sparklingbrook · 29/12/2015 15:36

Yes Fent0n, I didn't realise for some time about the matchy matchy name stuff. Or that I did BLW and baby wearing without even knowing it. Grin

Queenbean · 29/12/2015 15:39

CatfordBetty im just down the road from you!

Fent0n · 29/12/2015 15:40

It's a wonder how people have managed to wean their babies for centuries without the internet.

StrumpersPlunkett · 29/12/2015 15:41

Love this thread! This is how I remember it being.
A few people have chipped in rolling eyes saying oh not another thread, but in the main there has been a constructive conversation about options. With humour thrown in.
I have made many mistakes on mn in the last 12 years and been educated on many things.
One of the things that I do currently find uncomfortable is the lack of discussion/debate regarding politics.. Very rarely is there a balanced debate.
There are a lot of us in the country firmly holding the central ground but in order to talk politics on mn you seem to need to be polarised Britain first or Jeremy Corbyn and there are vast swathes inbetween.

I would post much more rather than lurking if I thought there would be a debate.
That said mn saved my Christmas as I almost had a spade out to dig a hole in the garden for the in laws but I was talked down by some fab mn'ers

magimedi · 29/12/2015 15:46

*WWorra, idea of genius - am just off to site stuff.

Pag, can't cope with Caprihinahahahahaha as the spelling is too hard Grin

And I did have large drink in your bar at 7.30am

And I HATE all these stupid emojis.

wickedwaterwitch · 29/12/2015 15:46

Lololol at not remembering 2003 because it was BC Smile

wickedwaterwitch · 29/12/2015 15:47

Yy maryz, agonising over whether 'chat' should be allowed!
