Does anyone actually like gift sets

Smellies and bubble bath I mean.
I love bubble bath but I always have tubs and bottles of mositerising cream left over as I always when I can be bothered use the same one. Not to mention the sponge or flannel that never gets used and don't even get me started on all the bloody packaging.
I am always grateful for the gift but I do tend to think they are an overpriced waste

I would love them if they were Lush or Soap and Glory.

I'm not hard to please. Just no more Dove sets please.

mincebloodypie · 28/12/2015 19:29

I love them. And nobody ever buys me them!

Salmotrutta · 28/12/2015 19:33

I haven't even heard of most of these fancy brands actually.

Perfectly happy to receive something that smells nice but doesn't set off my eczema even if it's Bayliss and Harding

LuluJakey1 · 28/12/2015 19:40

I love Clarins Ressourcante ones. I use everything in them every day, so there is no waste. DH bought me one as one of my treats and MIL bought me one too- fragrance, body stuff and bath stuff. Bliss!

FadedRed · 28/12/2015 19:53

Love 'em. Although I rarely am gifted them Sad. Usually gat them passed on from DSis though. (Exception of anything smelling of cocoa or chocolate, bleuch!)

Grilledaubergines · 28/12/2015 20:01

I got a B & H set this year and was chuffed - it's inoffensive everyday stuff and always get used. I also got some jo Malone which I love but it would last no time at all if I used daily and the person who bought it for me was so generous I would feel dreadful using it up so quickly.

Soap & Glory I'm less keen on as I find the smell very artificial and a bit teenagery.

If I got anything from Lush I'm afraid I would have to re-gift (and store in something air-tight in the meantime.). Again, these days it's following has an average age of about 12, and I've better things to do than painstakingly clear bits of twiggy shit and glitter from my bath and/or body.

I often get sets but never seem to get a combo that I use. I would use bubble bath but have one this Xmas with body wash/cream and hand cream and body lotion. I rarely use those and I can't stand little bottles in the shower. That being said, very nice to have received the gift.

millymae · 28/12/2015 20:56

I never have a bath, so bath oil and the like is wasted on me . Shower gel I love and if it's got some sort of matching body lotion so much the better. I'm lucky in that family members often buy me expensive sets to match my favourite perfumes but I'm grateful for the cheaper stuff which I use most days.

Why have you resurrected a 4+ year old thread?

katy1213 · 25/02/2020 00:06

I hate them - but I didn't get any this year so I think people have finally got the message.
I used to feel guilty buying nice soap when I had boxes and boxes of stuff I disliked - but life is too short to use pungent toiletries.

Of all the fckin inane topics to revive a zombie thread, missadventure selected fucking gift sets. Great. There’s 10 minutes of my life I’ll never get back. Thanks. 🙄🙄🙄

alltoomuchrightnow · 25/02/2020 01:59

the most boring zombie thread ever!
