Who does that!!
I'm away with friends and last night we had curry and pizza delivered. Ordered too much and quite a lot was left.
I've just got up and was thinking a slice of cold pizza would go down well with this hangover ....... to discover it is all IN THE BIN. Shock

Cold pizza isn't my favourite at all. It can be reheated quickly, though.
And ds loves it, so who am I to complain if he wants to finish off any leftovers?

Cel982 · 21/12/2015 22:43

We don't throw out any food, we've been eating reheated Chinese leftovers for Saturday's dinner for years and are still here to tell the tale. Our local place does huge portions so we get two (x2) proper dinners out of it easily.

And pizza-for-breakfast is unbeatable.

PitPatKitKat · 22/12/2015 07:24

sadwidow your poor thing.

PitPatKitKat · 22/12/2015 07:25

I meant you poor thing. I too have suffered ungrateful, grabby house guests but nothing on that scale.

TartanBirdFeeder · 22/12/2015 08:11

Sparkle I reheated takeaway rice yesterday, admittedly I did it for 6 minutes so it was white hot. I'm still here to tell the tale, though I did wonder at the time if it was a bad idea.

This obsession with not wasting food and eating everything on your plate or eating it tomorrow does fuel obesity. Your eating fatty, cheese pizza for breakfast

Actually, what fuels obesity is an ignorance about balance.

JapanNextYear · 22/12/2015 08:25

Had curry for breakfast lots of times in India....

Eating take out everyday may make you fat, depending on the take out, but eating the leftovers of a once a week takeout is just sensible. As long as it's not been left in a warm room overnight.

FinnDaHuman · 22/12/2015 08:31

I never knew you aren't supposed to reheat rice. I've always had my leftover rice the next day in the microwave Shock

charlestonchaplin · 22/12/2015 08:45

Congealed cheese and hard crusts? Have you people never heard of ovens or microwaves?

Artandco · 22/12/2015 08:49

How does putting a cold pizza in oven soften the crusts? It will just make then even harder as more cooked. A microwave would leave it soggy

Lweji · 22/12/2015 08:59

Have you ever tried?

Artandco · 22/12/2015 09:07

Yes as a student, went super hard and gross like mentioned

charlestonchaplin · 22/12/2015 09:07

I've done both and have very happy with the results, though oven heating is preferable if you have the time. The crusts do not get harder unless you are burning the pizza.

DoreenLethal · 22/12/2015 09:10

To soften the crusts I put a bowl of water in the oven with the lovely leftover pizza.

I remember when I worked away from home alot; getting a pizza takeout, munching it on the long journey to the hotel; leaving it on the front seat and having it for breakfast the next morning. Bliss. I love cold pizza and when I make it at home, I make too much just for the leftovers.

Lweji · 22/12/2015 09:12

The trick is also not to leave it for long. Just enough to get warm, unlike other foods you heat thoroughly.

TENDTOprocrastinate · 22/12/2015 09:43

Leftover pizza in the oven at 180 for 10 mins- comes out perfect -no hard crusts.
I love pizza!!!

Quietlifenotonyournelly · 22/12/2015 09:59

Am I the only one thinking that the ops friends would normally save leftovers for breakfast but didn't as they had guests because that's what I would do

DarkRoots · 22/12/2015 10:04

Good god. Go NC with them immediately!

DarkRoots · 22/12/2015 10:05

I mean pizza AND curry?

MyballsareSandy2015 · 22/12/2015 19:05

Can't believe this thread is still going strong Grin. I'm home now and looking forward to lovely xmassy leftovers ..... bubble and squeak, Turkey curry, Turkey and ham pie. Wonder if my friends throw all the Xmas day leftovers out!!! Shock.

She did pour away two thirds of a bottle of prosecco yesterday as we were leaving! I'd have poured it into a screw top bottle and taken it home.

She's one of my oldest friends and we've been away loads of times, yet I've never noticed this side to her!!

How is Fordingbridge Wink
but yes, wasteful people are there to be judged

PitPatKitKat · 22/12/2015 21:33

Hmm, throwing out leftover pizza and curry is serious behaviour. Ususally I would say LTBs but maybe with a lot of time and work you can get through this.

I say this from experience. When DH and I were first dating he cooked me a lovely meal one Saturday night, including a delicious cheesecake (no cheese in it actually, just double cream and condensed milk). It was amazing. On Sunday I asked if I could have another slice and he said "oh, I threw it out as I didn't think it would keep". I was stunned.
