Who does that!!
I'm away with friends and last night we had curry and pizza delivered. Ordered too much and quite a lot was left.
I've just got up and was thinking a slice of cold pizza would go down well with this hangover ....... to discover it is all IN THE BIN. Shock

Had it been left out at room temperature all night before being binned?

I'd bin left over pizza if it hadn't been put in the fridge.

Fairylea · 19/12/2015 08:36

We always throw stuff out. I've worked in catering for most of my life and knowing what I know there is no way I would eat take away the following day. I also can't stand the smell of it the next day.

MyballsareSandy2015 · 19/12/2015 08:37

No one else is up so it must ave been thrown last night.

I went to get water before bed and the kitchen was all tidy, I presumed the leftovers were in the fridge.

fairy funny how experiences are different isn't it.

Both me and dh have been in kitchens all our lives and we definitely would keep it.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 19/12/2015 08:38

I really want some left over pizza for breakfast. All I have is museli or weetabix :(

Iamnotloobrushphobic · 19/12/2015 08:39

Why would you be ordering from a takeaway of you weren't sure it was freshly cooked?

That's probably why I haven't actually ordered from a takeaway in over 4 years. You can't actually be sure that everything is freshly cooked. Especially with things like curry. I used to live near a few curry houses and they would have enormous pots of curry in the kitchens so it wasn't inconceivable that they just dish up portions as and when ordered rather than cooking it fresh to order. They were always really busy too but I have never eaten in any of them.
I only ever eat curry if I make it myself. Pizza is more obviously cooked fresh but I still don't order it from a takeaway.

topcat2014 · 19/12/2015 08:40

The best sunday lunch is four different types of chinese - all mixed together in the same pan, and bubbling hot, served in soup bowls.

Breakfast would be a bit early for that for me though.

Blarblarblar · 19/12/2015 08:41

Is anything on top of it could you get it out the bin?!?? Xmas Blush
Yes I would be that desperate!!!

SaucyJack · 19/12/2015 08:42

Sad times dude :-(

Are you still drunk enough to dig through the bin?

Moln · 19/12/2015 08:44

What do you know you know Fairy?

The rice thing - I thought the thing about rice was that it should sit at any temperature other than hot or cold, so therefore reheat rice (reheated well till hot throughout) that was stored in a fridge (and not left out) is ok

Haroldplaystheharmonica · 19/12/2015 08:46

Why would you be ordering from a takeaway of you weren't sure it was freshly cooked?

TBH when you order a takeaway at 11pm after a couple of bottles of wine, the last thing we're thinking of is "ooh, I wonder if it's all be freshly cooked?" You just want to eat the damn food!

Youarentkiddingme · 19/12/2015 08:53

There should surely be some sort of law written about this?

Left over takeout is one of lives little treats!

Nothing for it MyBalls other than to order your self a fresh pizza to recover from the shock!

WhoKn0wsWhereTheMistletoes · 19/12/2015 08:57

Cold pizza is rank, bin every time here.

SoupDragon · 19/12/2015 08:59

Ds2 makes me order him an large pizza so he can have half for packed lunch the next day #classy.

NerrSnerr · 19/12/2015 09:00

Oh god. I bet you're gutted op. I'm glad I don't know any bin people.

CaptainTightpantsforPM · 19/12/2015 09:12

I shan't rub salt in the wound then and tell you we had left over pizza for breakfast this morning and DS1 had ribs and chinese noodles for lunch. Was very tasty.

cashewnutty · 19/12/2015 09:15

It would go in the bin in this house. I can't think of anything worse than facing cold curry and pizza with a hangover. Bleurgh.

londonrach · 19/12/2015 09:20

Cold pizza the next morning is food of gods but rest of take aways so go in the bin.

skankingpiglet · 19/12/2015 09:26

Are you going to mention it to them or just quietly seethe?
BTW YANBU. I've got leftover curry for brunch Grin

Bunbaker · 19/12/2015 09:28

I would refrigerate anything left over except for rice, which goes into the bin. I have had bacillus cereus poisoning and don't ever want to risk it again.

MyballsareSandy2015 · 19/12/2015 09:29

Not sure, think I'm going to find it hard to act normally. DD1 is up and she's equally horrified Grin but is making do with the tub of celebrations.

OP posts:
AnchorDownDeepBreath · 19/12/2015 09:30

I wouldn't eat it, but I'd probably have checked that nobody wanted it before throwing it. Unless there was no room to keep it in the fridge. I hate fighting for fridge space, I'd rather just throw it away.

MyCarHasBrokenDownAgain · 19/12/2015 09:31

Cold curry the next morning - the breakfast of Kings! Grin

Oysterbabe · 19/12/2015 09:32

Cold pizza the next morning is nicer than hot pizza the night before IMO.
