Who does that!!
I'm away with friends and last night we had curry and pizza delivered. Ordered too much and quite a lot was left.
I've just got up and was thinking a slice of cold pizza would go down well with this hangover ....... to discover it is all IN THE BIN. Shock

WTAF?
Eating something (left overs) the following day doesn't possibly trigger obesity. Because once again you will only be eating what you feel like eating.
You're just saving food and money. Not increasing your calorie intake. (!)

IHaveBrilloHair · 21/12/2015 18:26

We all surely know it's salmon that causes the obesity crisis anyway.
I bet all them fatties are eating leftover salmon pizza.

whois · 21/12/2015 18:26

You eat half the pizza, you're full and then throw the leftovers away. If you don't save the rest of it for tomorrow you haven't eaten the whole pizza. I'm presuming your typical breakfast doesn't equal half a pizza.

This obsession with not wasting food and eating everything on your plate or eating it tomorrow does fuel obesity. Your eating fatty, cheese pizza for breakfast!

No..... I eat half the pizza on Monday for dinner, then on Tuesday I don't bother cooking and eat the other half. Or take it to work for lunch.

Or more likely I eat all but 2 slices on Monday, and then eat the 2 slices for breakfast. Which probably isn't too far off the calories I normally eat for breakfast.

MistressoftheYoniverse · 21/12/2015 18:35

OMDzzz...the best time to eat pizza and any other high fat/carb food is breakfast people!...I love morning ice cream Grin

clockbuscanada · 21/12/2015 18:36

I'd take leftover pizza over Richmonds sausages anyday. There's been science done FFS. Science

expatinscotland · 21/12/2015 19:13

'Your eating fatty, cheese pizza for breakfast!'

And? Lots of people eat cheese for breakfast in the world. It's very common in some European countries to have cheese, meats and eggs for breakfast. They don't all weigh a million pounds Hmm.

foragogo · 21/12/2015 19:36

I always have the rest of my takeaway the next day, usually for lunch - including rice from Indian and Thai meals. I have been doing this since I discovered takeaways at university circa 1990, probably on a monthly basis, and I have never, ever, ever been ill from it.

Atenco · 21/12/2015 19:45

We eat a lot of rice, often reheating it, and have never ever had or heard of anyone getting food poisoning from it.

MistressoftheYoniverse · 21/12/2015 20:36

You just have to zap rice good in a microwave or oven/pan make sure it's well heated (super hot) ...I say if you are unsure do egg fried rice to cook the egg you have to make sure the rice is super hot

Oysterbabe · 21/12/2015 20:58

I've had food poisoning twice in my life, once from rice and once from pork. With the rice it was so fast, violently sick within an hour.

QueenArseClangers · 21/12/2015 21:05

There was a thing on telly last year that showed that reheating cooked rice LOWERED the calorific content.

If that ain't a sign from the universe that we shouldn't chuck out leftover takeaways then I'll eat my (leftover from last night but refrigerated) hat.

QueenArseClangers · 21/12/2015 21:09

Sorry, it's not reheated rice, just scoffing cold leftover rice.

Coincidentally, I was wondering whether to post about this exact topic after the same thing happened to us this weekend. DH was really pissed off as he'd paid for the take away and was really looking forward to eating more of it the next day.

Lweji · 21/12/2015 21:12

Charge the wasteful bastard.

Lweji · 21/12/2015 21:13

Ups
Bastards.
Not your oh.

Pantone363 · 21/12/2015 21:56

But TWO of your meals are now pizza/Chinese/Indian. They go in the occasionally once in a while box. Not the eating two days in a row box. Plus you just had Pizza for dinner, you want to eat the same thing for breakfast?

PIZZA ISNT BREAKFAST FOOD

Pantone363 · 21/12/2015 21:58

And it's greasy, stuffed crusts and hard from being left out. Yak, that would turn my stomach first thing.

Hardly on par with some cheese and bread

Enkopkaffetak · 21/12/2015 21:59

I DO THAT.. I loathe cold pizza and curry should not be reheated.

I after 22 years now tolerate dh HAS to have it the next day but it makes me want to throw up so I have taught him and the kids to not eat it near me.

yuck... I would love to throw the lot

Lweji · 21/12/2015 22:05

There is no definition of breakfast food.
Food is food.
Different people around the world eat different things for breakfast.

BarbaraofSeville · 21/12/2015 22:06

What is pizza if it isn't cheese and bread Hmm

I love pizza and would eat it nearly every day if I could. Who is to say what is and isn't breakfast food?

I don't think that cereal is breakfast food because it makes me more hungry not less. At least with pizza I have a fighting chance of staying full until somewhere near lunchtime.

I don't even put mine in the fridge, I leave it in the microwave.

The other day DP ate takeaway curry and rice that had been out for close to 24 hours. We do this all the time and we are never ill.

DoreenLethal · 21/12/2015 22:12

PIZZA ISNT BREAKFAST FOOD

Of course it is - if that's the breakfast you want. You do not make up the rules.

expatinscotland · 21/12/2015 22:14

'you want to eat the same thing for breakfast?

PIZZA ISNT BREAKFAST FOOD'

Well, yes, some people just might. I find 'breakfast food' shit.

Pizza is cheese and bread. Yep. That's pretty much the definition of pizza - bread base, sauce and cheese.

Mizo soup and rice aren't 'breakfast food', either, but it's common to eat them for breakfast in Japan.

whois · 21/12/2015 22:17

PIZZA ISNT BREAKFAST FOOD

Why not? Brest tomatoes cheese and ham?

Why is that less breakfast like than a cheese and tomato omlette, or baked beans on toast?

But TWO of your meals are now pizza/Chinese/Indian. They go in the occasionally once in a while box

Shit! Curry is only meant to be eaten once in a while? Someone better tell people in India, Thailand, Vietnam etc....

Artandco · 21/12/2015 22:17

Fresh Pizza - nice
Day old pre cooked pizza with congealed cheese and hard crust - not nice

whois · 21/12/2015 22:20

Anyway, thanks to this thread making me crave pizza I bought an oven pizza for dinner. And it was bloody gorgeous. And I ate it all so there were no leftovers to agonise over :-)

Luckily I had a lovely mixed salad for lunch which knocked off at least my 5 a day, and have biked 9 miles and done a 30 mins weights class and 45 min spinning class today so I think I probably OK nutrient and exercise/calorie wise.
