Is it silly? What would I do with it, given that I've already got one? But it's so cheap....

Where is it £35?

Oldisthenewblack · 28/11/2015 16:45

On Amazon. Black Friday deal.

I don't know what version mine is, but the one on offer has a camera....

Oh honestly, like there aren't other things for me to ponder.

do you have a link OP

Enjolrass · 28/11/2015 16:49

I got the kindle fire in April.

I preferred my previous kindle that was just a kindle. My kindle fire freezers a lot.

I haven't used the camera once. Dh bought it as he knew my old kindle has broken. I prefer using the I pad for Internet

Oldisthenewblack · 28/11/2015 16:49

Looks like there's more in stock on 22nd December. I don't work for Amazon Blush

I have one. Love it. Is it the updated one from yours? Can you get one an gift your old onto someone else?

Utterlyclueless · 28/11/2015 16:51

I bought my mum and dad one whilst they're on offer.

The reviews are good on tech sites

atticusclaw2 · 28/11/2015 16:55

Currys and PC world have them for the same price

Redglitter · 28/11/2015 16:56

There's a few places price matching Amazon. I ordered mine last night delivery next week thankfully

BertieBotts · 28/11/2015 17:02

It's the new one I think.

I wouldn't bother if you already have one unless you want to give it to someone for a present. The new one is low spec, it's not a "good" tablet. It is excellent for the price, but it's not going to come close to a £200+ one.

Oldisthenewblack · 28/11/2015 17:04

Struggling with the link, but it's advertised on the home page. But from what other posters have said, it's available for the same price elsewhere and you don't have to pre-order!

Have you got children/niece/nephew etc? Give your old one to a child with the parental controls on and perhaps a years subscription to PRime kids and get yourself a nice shiny one

PrincessHairyMclary · 28/11/2015 17:08

I like them for a cheap tablet to carry around download bbc I player programmes on instead of carrying around my bigger, heavier, more expensive iPad. But it doesn't compare to a more expensive tablet.

noeffingidea · 28/11/2015 17:10

I bought 2 yesterday, at £40. One is for my daughter's christmas present, one is a spare for me, because I'm always dropping mine.
I don't use mine for reading books but for playing games and browsing the net. It's worth every penny. I don't have a laptop and wouldn't want one now because the kindle is so easy to use.
Up to you, OP. You could always put it away for future use.

somersetsoul · 28/11/2015 17:15

Tesco had loads instore and its online. I bought one on Friday for dds birthday. The reviews are great.

MTWTFSS · 28/11/2015 17:16

Argos and John Lewis are also selling them.

slanleat · 28/11/2015 17:16

You had tempted me, but when I looked at the delivery times I am saving my money. Expected delivery 30th December!

IsabellaofFrance · 28/11/2015 17:17

I got one! At that price it would be silly not to. DS can watch his favourite things on it and DD can read books.

imaginarypeople · 28/11/2015 17:18

I saw it yesterday in the offer and bought it for myself and my mum, it arrived this morning.
I really like it so far, it would be useful for watching films,tv shows because the laptop is quite bulky and overheats/slows down a lot. Or for cooking recipes, it's much handier to have in the kitchen to follow along with videos etc.

I'm hoping to watch the majority of things on there, and use my laptop for work related stuff only.
My mum is using it to contact family that live abroad, using skype/viber for example and general internet surfing.

I imagine it would be a good present for someone who travels regularly, in case they don't want to bring an expensive laptop with them.Or for kids, story time/animation, interactive games etc.

simpson · 28/11/2015 17:19

I bought one for DD (7) for Xmas.

It arrived today (although dumped on my doorstep as I was out Angry)

Does anyone know if it comes with a charger? The box looks too small to contain one and I don't want to open it as it's a pressie.

imaginarypeople · 28/11/2015 17:20

It's such a good price and if you have kids that are asking for a smart-phone, you could give them the tablet and a cheap nokia.
The delivery times are weird though, I thought it would come next week at the earliest and it came this morning. I am still waiting on the rest of my order.

imaginarypeople · 28/11/2015 17:23

YES simpson!!!
They rang the doorbell, and as I was coming just put the box on the doorstep and drove off. So rude, surely you are supposed to sign for stuff. First time I've seen such rudeness.

The package did contain a charger but if you ordered the Micro SD as well or case they aren't in the red pouch thing.

simpson · 28/11/2015 17:27

Thanks! Ordered a very cheap case (£2) but it is being delivered separately. Estimated date of delivery 8th Dec to 4th Jan! Fingers X it arrives in time...

I would have thought you were supposed to sign for it as well Hmm

onadifferentplanet · 28/11/2015 17:28

I ordered two online this afternoon from Argos, they are being delivered this evening between 7 and 10. No delivery charge!
