Shall we have a little vote, here and now?

It's a big "no" from me.

dotdotdotmustdash · 26/11/2015 17:49

No, please no.

RealityCheque · 26/11/2015 17:49

Yes, of course.

Comingfoccacia · 26/11/2015 17:51

No!

CremeEggThief · 26/11/2015 17:53

No.

anotherdayanothersquabble · 26/11/2015 17:53

No.

Unfortunately, the UN should be the body that protects the citizens within the recognised borders of the nations that form the body of nations that make it up. They should be the ones who sanction, lead and carry out operations under their mandate. Any other action is an illegal act of war under international law.

It is a failure of the UN that they have not managed to control the situation.

Firing on random targets on the ground, whilst we're committed to regime change in Syria, which actually allies us with ISIS?

No.

GandalfsOtherHat · 26/11/2015 18:06

No.

diaimchlo · 26/11/2015 18:06

No

batshitlady · 26/11/2015 18:07

Well said spondulix..... Lets not forget the roaring successes of our 'interventions' in Afghanistan and Libya as well.

Shinyhappypeople9 · 26/11/2015 18:07

No because it never gets countries anywhere nowadays. Look at the lovely tranquil place Iraq has become since we bombed there.

GinandJag · 26/11/2015 18:07

Yes

SilverOldie2 · 26/11/2015 18:09

LittleLionMansMummy
According to the Daily Mail 60% of the population supports bombing. Not according to this thread! Which rather supports my view that mn is a more reliable source than the Mail

It's got nothing to do with MN being more reliable, its because MN and the majority of posters are left wing.

I think we should bomb but no ground troops. Disabling the flow of oil would be a good start and pressure should be brought to bear on Middle Eastern countries who are funding ISIS.

Freezingwinter · 26/11/2015 18:09

I don't understand enough about these things but ages and ages ago I saw a news article comparing what was happening to Syrians to Jews in ww2. I don't know if that's accurate or not? But if it's true somethingneeds to be done?

LumpySpacedPrincess · 26/11/2015 18:16

No.

We need to look at who we sell arms to and who we do business with first.

I honestly think that there are violent psychopaths who own / control the banks and the media, which in turn control our government. I think they like the world to be a divided, war torn place and they profit from that.

TheBunnyOfDoom · 26/11/2015 18:18

Ugh, no. Definitely not. But I bet we will anyway.

OnADarkDesertHighway · 26/11/2015 18:22

Definite no.

spaceyboo · 26/11/2015 18:24

Gut says no because I really don't think bombing Syria will stop the home grown terror threat and might make it worse.

Waitingfordolly · 26/11/2015 18:24

No

HighNoon · 26/11/2015 18:26

No

batshitlady · 26/11/2015 18:26

MN and the majority of posters are left wing Yes Silver and we're all coming to get youuuuuuuu !!!

Or common sense and learning from our past disasters could have something to do with it?

Mama1980 · 26/11/2015 18:28

No.
Violence only ever breeds violence just look at the bloody awful mess the west made 'helping' Iraq.
And for the love of all things it's winter, the med is not a place to be crossing now, more bombs=more people desperate enough to risk it, yet more people dead.
Paris was awful absolutely and those responsible should be brought to justice but even quick glimpse at the civilian casualty figures on a day to day basis in Syria and Iraq at the moment puts them in a kind of twisted perspective. We cannot sacrifice innocent people to secure our safety.

TrinityForce · 26/11/2015 18:29

no

LittleLionMansMummy · 26/11/2015 18:30

I was being facetious Silver I am not stupid enough to think that a mn thread is a representative sample of the population.

hefzi · 26/11/2015 18:33

Not yet, and possibly, not ever.
