It apparently happened after an awards ceremony.

But fuzzywuzzy, you HAVE spelled it Fuzzy-Wuzzy? Don't think you can use - in a name on mn?

fuzzywuzzy · 24/11/2015 11:50

blimey! Shock

My user name has nothing to do with the term used by Alf Garnet! Or Rudyard Kipling poems.

well it doesnt seem obviousto you or others on tis thread We dont start sharing tales of being abused/raped/insulted by white men, do you in response to a similar story....or how we 'used to live near a CofE church' or 'once walked down a middleclass white street'...Confused

do you want me to tell you about how i was raped by a middle class white guy???

ShortcutButton · 24/11/2015 11:55

the alf garrnet/ rudyard kipling reference is going right over my head

dont think ill bother googling it, based on the logic of the rest of your posts

Booyaka · 24/11/2015 11:56

I think some people are being deliberately obtuse about the fact it's often possible to make an accurate assessment of someone's religion given their appearance and attitudes.

Obviously I don't know what happened in this case, but I think if a man of Pakistani appearance, with a Pakistani accent, with a skull cap and a big beard, who didn't appear to be a hipster and was objecting to a woman in a conservative outfit.....well I don't think assuming he was a Muslim would be a total stab in the dark.

DrasticAction · 24/11/2015 11:57

It is not peculiar to some deviant Muslim men to blame their victim in a derogatory way

No its not However I am not aware on non Muslim abusers using religion as an excuse to abuse victims.

I think the Rotherham and all the similar scandals were so shocking because it was not a hidden network of some men abusing girls.

It was so wide spread, ran through so many veins of the local community
( taxis, shops, restaurants and schools) It was all sort of hidden in plain site and no one did anything aboutit.

StrawberryTeaLeaf · 24/11/2015 11:57

My user name has nothing to do with the term used by Alf Garnet! Or Rudyard Kipling poems.

Or Jack Jones from Dad's Army Grin Or the other several million people who have used it over time?

No, I'm sure not.

But the irony did make me smile. You're wilfully misinterpreting a lot of people, you know.

fuzzywuzzy · 24/11/2015 11:59

People have been killed by the police mistaking them for being Muslim men.

In my view accidentally 'accusing' someone of being Muslim male or female, is very easily done.

I have seen it done lots to bemused friends colleagues and the occasional stranger.

MistressoftheYoniverse · 24/11/2015 11:59

ShockI never even thought that about Fuzzys name I imagined she liked wearing furry boots or something...

StrawberryTeaLeaf · 24/11/2015 11:59

You're incredibly rude Shortcut.

I'll make it simple for you. 'Fuzzy-wuzzy' is a bit like 'towel-head' or I don't know really, any number of empire-era racial slurs.

ShortcutButton · 24/11/2015 12:00

However I am not aware on non Muslim abusers using religion as an excuse to abuse victims

fuck me, have you heard of the catholic church???

and so what if a group of rapist criminals do use their 'religion' to justify targeting white british girls That doesnt reflect on the religion..it only indicates what goes on in their poisonous rapist/abusive minds

EnaSharplesHairnet · 24/11/2015 12:00

Lance-Corporal Jones was the character name I was searching for!

ShortcutButton · 24/11/2015 12:02

I am fairly rude in general; but I dont think i have been on this thread. You make little sense tbh

Im quite old, but would never have made that association with fuzywuzzys name...it conjers images of being a bit drunk in my mind

fuzzywuzzy · 24/11/2015 12:02

No strawberry, you're references are going completely over my head. Maybe I'm form a completely different generation to you, if it was such an obvious term to you.

Possibly even MN HQ have no idea as they let me use the username and I have done for a long time.

DrasticAction · 24/11/2015 12:02

Yes I have.

I was not aware of priests widely justifying abuse from texts in the Bible and shipping small children around all over the country to be abused?

BarbarianMum · 24/11/2015 12:03

Whilst many of the pedophiles in the Rotherham rings were of asian descent and muslim, the majority of the police officers and social workers and town councillors who did jack shit about it were English and white.

StrawberryTeaLeaf · 24/11/2015 12:04

I'm 38 fuzzy if that helps. I wasn't at the Boer war personally or anything Smile

DrasticAction · 24/11/2015 12:04

That doesnt reflect on the religion..it only indicates what goes on in their poisonous rapist/abusive minds

Well there is a strand of that religion which is being used to subjugate and demean women - Sharia Law.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 24/11/2015 12:04

I think it kind of reflects the fact that most religions treat women as lesser though. And abusive men will embrace that whatever race they are.

DrasticAction · 24/11/2015 12:06

I think it kind of reflects the fact that most religions treat women as lesser though

To varying degrees yes. The most extreme being sharia law.

BarbarianMum · 24/11/2015 12:06

Drastic - have a look at the history of childrens homes run by the church, or the Magdalene laundries or the practice of shipping small children off to the colonies as slave labour then. Lots of Christian rhetoric around those.

MistressoftheYoniverse · 24/11/2015 12:07

I am older than you Strawberry and didn't see the Fuzzy user name in those terms Hmm

StrawberryTeaLeaf · 24/11/2015 12:07

Possibly even MN HQ have no idea as they let me use the username and I have done for a long time.

No, I can see it's less obvious and arguably less offensive than n*r, wg etc, but it's still makes me flinch every time I see it and it just struck me as a bit surprising for someone who is taking such a very definite position as you are. I'm not getting vibes of nuance from you.

I quite realise you mean nothing negative by it.

But that's enough of that derail Smile

ShortcutButton · 24/11/2015 12:10

just look at the pie and mash link and other films they have mmade..the Jersey one...

Never mind religion..that is the UK care system

power is what leads to abuse...
