It apparently happened after an awards ceremony.

Binbam what you are saying about parking doesn't surprise me. I heard a similar story where I live about people moving away because the parking for mosque totally ignored parking regulations and worshippers parked illegally. Why can't the law be applied fairly

Booyaka · 24/11/2015 19:24

Fanjo, what an absolute load of rubbish. So by the same token, would you say that if a teenage boy told me that he intended to join Combat 18 and start planting bombs in Stepney and Bradford I should just shrug my shoulders and say 'It's not my responsibility, not my fault'. That if my child did that and I knew he had views which tended in that direction I could just shrug and say 'Why should I have stopped him, it's not my fault'.

fuzzy, a female, Hasna Ait Boulahcen, did die in a flat in St Denis with a number of terrorists. Some of the pictures have been of the correct woman. But another woman called Nabila claims that the picture in the bath is a picture of her and not of the suicide bomber and is allegedly suing. But she does bear a bit of a resemblance to the bomber and it's not yet clear whether the photo is actually of her or if she is a chancer looking to make some cash. Personally I tend to think she's a chancer. The woman in the bath looks much more like the photograph of Hasna than it does Nabila.

originalmavis · 24/11/2015 19:28

Oh have the conspiracy theorists started already? What's it this time, actors or the cia staging a massacre to get the green light to bomb Belgium?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 24/11/2015 19:30

Originalmavis have you heard of the concept of reading the thread?

SheHasAWildHeart · 24/11/2015 19:31

Hahahahahahahaha I have a massive Pakistani Muslim family and can only count one taxi driver amongst them so the 90% statistic seems to have passed us all by.
Let's not mention the doctors and the teachers....

Oh yeah and the university that I work at which is full of Pakistani Muslims I should just tell them to give up their degrees coz yeah they're gonna become taxi drivers. Seriously this thread is really something else. Anyone remember that news reporter who claimed she was thrown out of a mosque and then CCTV showed she wasn't? This reminds of that and I hope that in the end the taxi driver turns out to be a white atheist Grin

SheHasAWildHeart · 24/11/2015 19:37

Or even the woman who claimed she was kicked out of primark for breastfeeding?

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 24/11/2015 19:40

This thread is awful. Surprised MNHQ want stuff like this on their website.

SheHasAWildHeart · 24/11/2015 19:41

It's full of the most bonkers comments, pretending to be all naice but really it's all bakwaas.

SheHasAWildHeart · 24/11/2015 19:42

Most nights when I'm trying to sleep all I can hear is drunk white people returning from all the pub... I think 90% of white people are drunks.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 24/11/2015 19:43

I don't see much being nice tbh

SheHasAWildHeart · 24/11/2015 19:43

A group of white girls tried to set my hair on fire while on a bus... I think 90% of white people are evil

SheHasAWildHeart · 24/11/2015 19:43

lets just generalise until the cows come home.

originalmavis · 24/11/2015 19:44

So tell me what's new? I've been here for years now and its got quite odd and argumentative over the past year or so.

bim I know how you feel , I live near Rochdale and 10 minutes away from a predominantly Muslim area of Manchester and from my experience , most of the young Muslim men I've encountered have had views like you've mentioned . I've been spat at and called a whore in front of my son Sad

Puzzledandpissedoff · 24/11/2015 19:56

Let's not mention the doctors and the teachers....

Or the pharmacists!! I should know - I used to recruit them Wink

DeoGratias · 24/11/2015 19:56

Most muslims in the UK are peaceful. A few are not sexist and not homophobic and many of those who are keep their views to themselves. We all live side by side happily. Plenty near where I live are doctors or business owners in £2m+ houses.

However not all. There are core groups in London particularly amongst young men who have some terrible views about women obeying men, Western women being inferior, who are not happy woemn should have sexual freedom and sleep with as many men as they like, that women are uncovered. We aren't making this up.

brioche what can an average muslim do?

On this comment "I'm a mother of 4 small kids I'm a carer. my life consists of chores around them. contrary to what you think i don't spend all my days planning who I'm going to bomb next." MNost of us don't think you will be making bombs. In terms of what can be done personally - out earning the husband, making sunny Jim stay home doing caring duties whilst women rise in their careers would be a very good start and reflect the values of the culture in the UK.

MistressoftheYoniverse · 24/11/2015 20:05

Deo who are you to tell anyone what they should do within their family???..talk about entitled!??..you talk about open arms and freedom then turn around and tell Muslim women what they should be doing??..not everyone has to reflect your culture or your values and that does not mean they support abhorrent behavior...

SheHasAWildHeart · 24/11/2015 20:11

and what of the non-Muslim women who are SAHM or not out-earning their husbands? Are they oppressed too?

PrussianPrue · 24/11/2015 20:12

Oh Jesus, I'm white, British and nominally Christian - I guess that if Muslims have to come out and apologise for every horrific thing either done in some screwed up interpretation of their religion (although ISIL and other Islamic terrorist groups are really all about power and murder and not about Islam at all) Or apologise for deeds that people who share their religion have committed, then I'd better start apologising for some of the horrors perpetrated by other White, British, Christian people.

Or perhaps we could try and just accept that there are twats and that sometimes these twats hide behind their religion, but it doesn't make their religion guilty.

Islamaphobia and the huge, huge media stirring up of it worry me so much more then some idiot in a cab. It would be nice if we could just address idiots when we come across them as opposed to making sweeping generalisations.

Fuzzy I've always liked your username. I've always had this vague idea that you have a hot water bottle with you for some reason.

Also the bible has some of the most blood thirsty pronouncements in it.

SheHasAWildHeart · 24/11/2015 20:13

Some of the threads I read on here from non-Muslim women and their partners are terrible... Good thing I don't judge a whole culture based on that.

PrussianPrue · 24/11/2015 20:14

Deo The SAHM thing is unbelievably bizarre

MistressoftheYoniverse · 24/11/2015 20:15

Oh and considering you apparently talk for the whole of the UK Deo tell me and everyone from the UK on the thread what our values are...
