Do you think it is unreasonable to be shocked at the revelations on the documentary about British Muslim women openly defending Isis in front of impressionable teenagers and children. The way I see it is if they want sharia law and despise our government and our western ways then why on earth stay here, leave and go and live in a Muslim country. That poor girl that was undercover was terrified of these evil women, the problem is the enemy is within. One of the women worked as a careers adviser! I really hope that the authorities go after the women shown in the documentary before they can corrupt any more young minds!!

I didn't watch it. I knew that it will make me either scared or angry and I wouldn't like myself in either state. Yes, there are ISIS supporters in UK, but this "documentary" will only cause more muslims being abused by stupid twats with media shit filled brains.
And here is some reading material for you. This number will go up after this programme. In fact, soon it will be dangerous to wear hijab on the streets of London, which I find ironic, as I've heard stuff like "she has a bomb under there, stay well away from her" coming from men's mouths.

That article is awful, the thing is people are scared and when people are scared they can become irrational. I totally condemn the way those people in that article have been treated, I also strongly believe that the burka should be banned, who knows who is under that garment, it could be a woman or it could be a man. We ban helmets or other full head coverings In most public places so I think it's time to ban the burka, not the hijab. No one should be allowed to completely cover their face these days, it creates fear.

I watched the programme but I'm afraid I wasn't shocked. Of course this kind of thing is going on in the UK. I was however glad to see that they seemed to have attracted a rather pathetic amount of people at their "sessions".

The attacks on Muslims is horrific but as Idliketo says, when people are afraid they will lash out. That isn't to excuse it at all but that doesn't mean these people shouldn't be outed. We should know what is going on and they should know that people might be on to them.
I too think the full face covering should be banned but I doubt it will happen in the UK.

And I hope those women have been arrested by now.

Haven't seen the documentary but in reference to your post at 00:47 OP being 'scared and irrational' is not an excuse to carry out hate crimes. Funny how these 'scared and irrational' xenophobes usually target women who are alone and vulnerable. Attacks against innocent women are utterly reprehensible, there is no 'the thing is...'

Being scared is absolutely no excuse for hate crimes. At all. It's not ok, it's never ok. For anyone.

I grew up in a climate of fear. Still managed to never attack anyone.

That said I do believe full face covering should be banned. It's not acceptable, in this day and age.

Interesting that the Labour Counsellers son who was arrested trying to get into Syria has been released without charge. Into that's not ok, but then I believe they shouldn't have brought him back in the first place.

It was very interesting; also noted the lack of attendees and the constant going and froing to sort out children. Seemed like a v small number but obviously chilling if that's replicated across the UK.

Only saw a few minutes of the programme but got an overall impression of school bullying. A few women stating things that were blatantly untrue but the atmosphere was one where anyone who would challenge anything would become a target.

I suppose having the children around didn't give the other women at the meeting chance to actually think about what was being said.

I watched it. It doesn't suprise me that there are women engaged in this. It would surprise me to think people would not already be aware that women can also be extremists. White Widow??

I am a Christian but I really hope we all see that the crimes (IMO) and attitudes of a few extremists is not a reflection of an entire culture. KKK Claim to be Christians etc. I speak as someone that has been so affected by Paris I don't want to take DD to Trafford Center and I don't want DH going to Man U games prior to Christmas. Yes I feel terrorised by what's happened in Paris, the Russian Plane and other evil atrocities but I would never excuse hate crimes because of it. I also don't agree that woman of Muslim faith that want/wish to wear the Burka should be banned from doing so. Burka or not evil extremists will find a way of doing what they did in Paris.

On a side note I would have liked to know what, if anything, was done by the police once the found out about these women.

There are 2,700,000 Muslims in the UK. I'm not shocked that an undercover reporter working over a long period of time managed to find three out of that number who were saying unpleasant things when they thought they could get away with it.

I'm just not sure what Channel Four were trying to achieve by showing the programme in this current political climate.

It's propaganda, fed up of it, there are extremists in every community. We are being primed to spend money on war instead of public services.

the 9/11 attacks happened while I was still in school. There were three girls in my year who came in defending the actions of the terrorists. they had clearly had their heads filled with it at home. Despite others challenging their views and trying to tell them that so many people had died and how horrific it was, they carried on repeating that it was Allah's will and was good. These were intelligent girls, but they had clearly been completely brainwashed. It's scary.

I have never gotten religion and the will of God/Allah/whoever people worship etc. If it is an almighty beings will then why do people insist on helping these almighty beings to kill people by blowing things and themselves up. Tell that to my ds who is told constantly when entering a store or public building that he has take his hood down. Even at 9 he was crying sexism because the woman in the burqua was not told to remove her face and head covering because she was a woman.

Shops isn't "most public places" though - sorry if I sound pedantic, but this is important, also many folk seem to think this is now the law, when it isn't.

This was the fear as so many dc seemed to be milling around in the meetings. Children as young as 4 have been taken away from environments where its feared they were at risk of being radicalised. So what will happen to those young dc?

I was also amazed by the low level of the meetings, the repetitive and simplistic nature of them. All they kept saying was "the west killing women and children in Syria" anyone with access to media will know thats not the full and true story! The whole 'investigation' lasted almost a year IIRC.

And certainly the undercover investigator wasn't groomed in any way. She had to do the chasing. I suspect the program makers hoped that the ISIS supporters would be far more proactive and pressing the undercover investigator to go to Syria, perhaps helping her.

I am not shocked that some people support ISIS

Many take the simplistic view of the west has attacked and killed many in innocent people in Iraq, Afghanistan etc and it's just some are fighting back against the west it's easy to persuade people of this

The more ISIS attack the west and we fight back the more support they shall get

There is much anti west feeling among many Muslims and that seems to override the horrors of what Muslim governments and Muslim terrorist or jihadists groups are doing or doing in the name of Islam

It's not news and its a minority a small minority but they are still there though not sure what the point was of this programme
