My girlfriend has her period today, granted she always says the first day is the worst. I've had to hand wash three cushion covers because she bled through them, now she's just sheepishly taken the bedsheet down with blood on it and is basically crawling back up the stairs!
I sound like a typical man but is it normal to be that bad? Genuinely concerned

Enjolrass...quite. I am genuinely shocked at the reactions to the OP's post. Utterly vile, expected better from MN'ers.

OP, I hope things are OK tonight, goodness you've been through the mill over the last 24 hours. Please don't be put off from posting, especially for MC support...avoid AIBU though, it's the pit of hell...

Ilive - I'm guessing you haven't read any of the latest posts, or indeed the OP's last update, have you. Perhaps you should.

I hope the posters who have been horrible are ashamed of themselves now.
Maybe also people will read atleast op's posts before putting the poster down.
This thread has truly gotten to me.

No I hadn't. Sorry for your loss, scarred.and indeed love to your gf. Flowers.

Flowers Sorry to hear about the MC.

I know you're both probably in shock, but...

Keep an eye on her still, she's going to lose a lot more blood. If you can't be there, at least try and get a text every hour or so while you're at work.

To summarize:

  • More than one heavy pad an hour
  • Starts having a racing heart beat
  • Pain gets worse
  • Discharge starts smelling bad

Any of those signs, see a doctor immediately. It means there's an infection or she's losing too much blood.

I'm sure the doctor gave you a pamphlet and talked about it.

As others said, there's a few cunts here, but there's also some quality women here as well if your girlfriend wants to talk about it or get some hand holds. Or read some mildly interesting threads while she's resting up. :)

So sorry OP Flowers

Will she need an operation or is nature taking its course?

Hope she feels better soon xx
