WIBU to have slapped his face?

This afternoon a man (mid fifties) in the street said to me "excuse me darlin' but can I tell you you've got really impressive tits"

Without any thought I slapped his face and gave him a raging dressing down - he just stood there stunned looking and mumbled "sorry darlin'" (which enraged me all the more)

I am conflicted - part of me is horrified that I reacted violently, the other part is still fuming and kind of glad I slapped him.

Did I over-react?

Blush but also Grin

I will try to bear in mind, in future, that some people may/could construe calm as snide or controlling.

I wouldn't worry too much about that or how people on a random internet site view you.

The courts examine actions, not words.

Screme

are you suggesting that something here is actionable?
other that the original OP?

I wouldn't bother replying to Ronald's goading

quite obvious but then when a woman is speaking against the majority and is intelligent they will be goaded by some

WOMEN KNOW YOUR PLACE

I fail to see where I have been goading anyone. It seems that by remaining calm and measured today that has been particularly galling for some.

I simply disagreed and asked/suggested a more reasoned response even when being goaded or harassed.
Not women know your place - but try to react in a reasonable manner and do not to escalate a situation to physical violence that is already verbally abusive.
I would say the same thing to a man

Mumsnet is often full of intelligent women debating from different viewpoints. Sometimes the advice given is atrocious, sometimes it is thoughtful and considered.
