Having defended its use, I'll now say that I don't like it either. But only because I can't read it as Christmas, in my head it is Ecksmas, which sounds horrid, so I'd only ever write Christmas myself.

We all used to shorten Christian to Xian in Religious studies lectures, it's just shorter than Christ

As many others have said the writing of Xmas is actually a very old tradition, it's not some nasty modern thing.
But you've chosen to ignore that.
And as for not 'agreeing' with hallowe'en. That is a Christian festival too.
