How would you vote if there was an EU Referendum tomorrow on British Membership?

I know this is completely unscientific and there are a lot of variables to factor in but if there was an EU Referendum tomorrow on British Membership how would you vote if the only options were staying in (with things as they are now) or out (and into the great unknown)? There seems to be a lot of hysteria on both sides of the argument.

I'm leaning towards out.

Out - because the ultimate goal is a Single State (in other words, Germany)

StrawberryTeaLeaf · 31/10/2015 18:22

In, but I have reservations.

MrsTerryPratchett · 31/10/2015 18:23

I'm not sure if it would be right to vote as I am currently living in Canada. I mean, regardless of the legal position. However, if I had a vote it would be IN. Unequivocally.

*Question to
Those who want to leave the EU because its undemocratic.

Why is that a reason to lose so much economic benefit?

Surely its better to be inside the tent pissing out than outside pissing in*

Well that really depends if you think it's worth selling democracy for (questionable) economic benefits. You could equally say the same about countries like Saudi Arabia. That they have traded democracy for economic benefits, it's not always attractive. I think it is something that the EU has used to effectively blackmail smaller and poorer states into giving up a lot of their power and allowing themselves to become effectively ruled by Germany and faceless bureaucrats. I think that the UK is rich and powerful enough to survive outside where many others can't. And I would rather feel like I had slightly less money and the ability to have some control over how my country was run than have a bit less money but be powerless.

Tony Benn had some interesting stuff to say about the EU, including 'If you can't vote out the people who are in charge, you don't live in a democracy'.

Was so very pro for so many years and am in an industry that works in Europe but would now vote

OUT

as it is not what was designed to be and has created problems

PotatoesPastaAndBread · 31/10/2015 18:35

Am kind of on the fence but gut feel is in

SettlinginNicely · 31/10/2015 18:45

Out. But I am persuadable.

InTheBox · 31/10/2015 18:54

BlueJug The internet is no longer what it is was designed to be and has created problems. Would you like to leave that too?

Billben · 31/10/2015 18:59

In. Definitely

MrsCorbyn · 31/10/2015 19:06

Out

GabiSolis · 31/10/2015 19:12

In.

Am genuinely worried it might go the other way though.

Mistigri · 31/10/2015 19:49

I won't get a vote - despite being a british citizen who will be directly affected by the outcome.

I think that the risk of an out vote has increased dramatically. The only positive spin I can put on it is that it would be the end of pig man's political career.

HennaFlare · 31/10/2015 19:56

Out.

VulcanWoman · 31/10/2015 19:58

Out, we'll be just fine.

AnnaForbes · 31/10/2015 20:04

Out. No doubts. I have always been against a single state, I never thought it was workable and recent events have imo proved me right. Too much disparity.

Out. It doesn't make financial or political sense to stay in.

alexpolistigrakia · 31/10/2015 20:17

I am in the same boat, Mistigri, having lived in another EU country for 16 years.

Have you seen the votes for expat Brits campaign?

I would vote IN if I could!
