How would you vote if there was an EU Referendum tomorrow on British Membership?

I know this is completely unscientific and there are a lot of variables to factor in but if there was an EU Referendum tomorrow on British Membership how would you vote if the only options were staying in (with things as they are now) or out (and into the great unknown)? There seems to be a lot of hysteria on both sides of the argument.

I'm leaning towards out.

In, the freedom of movement in the eu is great plus we need the trade alliances. Some of it isn't great (tampon tax for example) but we do get some benefit.

lunar1 · 31/10/2015 14:33

Out if there are no significant reforms.

Topseyt · 31/10/2015 14:36

On the fence here, but leaning slightly towards out.

I will have some reservations whichever way I vote.

Werksallhourz · 31/10/2015 14:38

Out.

You cannot democratise the EU because it is not a democratic institution. I am also concerned about the way the EU interacts with Russia. I also believe the euro is a form of financial fascism.

And I would like Britain to leave the EU before the entire structure collapses into chaos and, possibly, provokes civil and intra-state war.

For the same reasons as Werks basically.

In, but very much on the fence still. I can see the benefits of our membership, but very uneasy about the constraints the EU place on us and the gradual chipping away of our autonomy.

Up to Quills I make it:-

Needs to be change but if I'm honest I'll almost certainly vote to stay in even if DC doesn't manage to force any reforms. Reasons being primarily economic and also geopolitical to an extent.

In. Have reservations about how it operates but it's better than the alternative which is Norway or Switzerland status, where they have to implement the bulk of EU rules but have no say over their drafting.

TotalConfucius · 31/10/2015 15:37

Wa-hoeeee, the okey cokey.

I do have reservations, I would like to see changes. But I still think we are better in than out.

Leaving the EU would be economic suicide for the most vulnerable

Imagine the Tories not constrained by the Human Rights act, the Working Time directive, the Clean Air directives, Trading Standards directives, GM crops directives etc etc etc

hefzi · 31/10/2015 15:40

OUT. (But I have an economics background, and have always been opposed as a result - free trade area is one thing: wider and deeper is undemocratic and an assault on our sovereignty.)

We rely on being able to implement EU rules for clinical trials.

Out. The EU is massively undemocratic.

gingham. Can you please explain your comment about Angela Merkel? I'm curious, that's all.
